    It's the same HS that Chris Weinke & Joe Mauer went to. Mauer if you recall was the HS player of the year in both football & baseball about 3 years ago. He committed to FSU on signing day & then became the 1st round draft choice by his hometown Twins. Three years later & he's the starting catcher for the Twins. If my brother-inlaw who plays for Ruston wasn't playing at Independence Stadium tomorrow night against Southwood, I'd go out to Rodney Duron Field and watch the game in person.

    Yeah. a 3-3 Evangel team, somehow ranked 9th in the state. A real "must-see". :dis:

    Yeah, I remember Mauer. Him not going to FSU forced the headcase Rix to start when they were all giddy about the #1 Qb coming. What could have been, not that I give a Fuke

    Probably still the 2nd best 5A team in La. Behind Hahnville (I guess they are still undefeated)


    BTW, Are Evangel and Curtis still having to move down to 1a or 2a soon?

    Poor Iota, South Cameron, Lake Arthur, etc. No one in 2a will ever have a prayer. Shame.

    evangel has been playing teams from all over and thats why they lost. and next year is when curtis and evangel move to 2a

    This Evangel team is loaded with underclassmen,West Monroe would rank behind Hahnville, they have already beat carencro, st amant,not really a good yr for super La teams
