WTF? On the Sportscenter update that runs every 20 minutes they report "Nick Saban is staying put at LSU next season, but he will practically have to start over. Michael Clayton has announced he is entering the NFL draft. That makes 7 underclassmen leaving early for the draft"

No others mentioned by name. Nothing similar being reported anywhere else. Anybody know what 7 they are referring to?

I heard that. I think the idiot announcing it misunderstood the fact
that Clayton is the 7th underclassman in LSU history...not this year...to declare early.

I saw this earlier. Clayton is the seventh underclassman EVER to leave LSU for the draft. He is the only one on record so far.

Here is a clip from the ESPN article, then the link:

Clayton becomes the seventh LSU player ever to leave early for the draft.

There are several other Tigers juniors who have been mentioned as candidates for the draft, including defensive ends Marcus Spears and Marquise Hill and cornerback Corey Webster. The early entry deadline is Friday.

Take a deep breathe now, it will be ok! :)

The SEVEN that have declared early in the HISTORY of LSU. I heard the same report, but i think they mean:

    1. Alan Fanneca
    2. Eddie Kennison
    3. Labrandon Toefield
    4. Trev Faulk
    5. Michael Clayton
    6. Josh Reed
    7. Josh Booty

ESPN mucked this one up I think.

Wouldn't be the first time, and sure as hell won't be the last. Those guys seem to make a living out of mucking things up.

The announcer definitely misunderstood then. He certainly mentioned that Saban would be "practically starting over" next season. I had to listen to it twice just to make sure.

    ALWAYS CONSIDER THE SOURCE.

Granted this is ESPN radio, but would you expect anything less from a company that hired Trev Alberts?

I sure wish someone would start up a new Sports Network to challenge the strangle hold ESPN has on the Sports News Business. I remember when FOX News started and gave us an alternative to CNN.

ESPN has become lazy, fat and biased!

Fox Sports is an alternative, but their format just is not that great.

Other than Trev and Clayton (maybe Booty), it looks like the rest were Redshirt Juniors (i.e., academic seniors). I know that Fanneca, Toefield and Reed had all been here for four years prior to declaring for the draft.
