If I remember correctly, didn't most of these morons from ESPN pick OU over the Tigers, and look what happens. Then they come and say USuCk would beat LSU like there some experts on picking college games. Better than that Trev ^&*hole says that the only way Lsu could beat USuCk is if the game was played at the Dome. Guess what ^@*hole, that's where the real NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP was played this year. On a different note, in 1958 when the Tigers won the 1st Natl Championship, Notre Dame, Alabama, and Penn State didn't go to a bowl game, guess who didn't go bowling this year. Coincidence?.
You guys give those talking heads in broadcasting too much credit. For example, some guy called Buddy D on WWL this evening and stated that the Oklahoma player who blocked the LSU punt should have been flagged for roughing the punter. Buddy D could not tell him why hitting the punter after the ball was blocked was not a penalty.
I'm sure we all remember back when OU was the team that could beat God. The talking heads wanted USC to play them. "Only USC has the athletes to keep up with OU." These are the same peole who want their final poll to still be considered a maker of National Champions.
Number one reason why human polls are a joke: In 1984, since it was the only undefeated team left, BYU won the national championship. Let's say Boise State had beaten Oregon State (its only loss by 2 points). Would they be national champs? Of course not, but in 1984, that happened. Why? Humans are biased and flawed, that's why.
BYU was voted #1 after beating a mediocre 8-3 Michigan team in the Holiday Bowl. I guess that to get a fake national championship all you have to do is to beat Michigan.
