"There's been a lot of studying and getting used to new playbooks and whatnot, but I've definitely embraced that challenge and enjoy it."

"I'm just more comfortable," he said. "You can't tell? I'm more loose, not as nervous. I learned a lot of tough lessons last year, but also a lot of good ones. The ups and downs of the college football season are some things that I'm more prepared for and ready to take on."

"There were a lot of chances [downfield] that we had last year that we missed," Mettenberger said. "You can trust me when I say that that's been one of our main priorities in getting better at this offseason."

"You're either a winner or a loser," he said. "In this day and age it's what you can do for me and I want to go out on top and lead us to a great season and hopefully I can leave LSU with a national championship."

    No 3-peat for you!!!

It's LSUs season in '13 and BDS isn't very friendly to yall when the Tigers come prowlin' around.

Gary Patterson warns against overlooking LSU’s Zach Mettenberger

“If anybody’s saying Mettenberger’s not a very good quarterback, then they’re sadly mistaken,” Patterson said Wednesday after TCU’s practice at the Sam Baugh Indoor Facility. “How many games did they win last year? They win 10 games in the SEC, so my advice: I just stay below the water.”

“LSU’s LSU,” Patterson said. “They’ve played for national titles here in the past five years. They’re big, they’re physical. On both sides of the ball they try to intimidate you. ... And they have guys that can run by you.”

Herb, no. You don't believe that. Bama wins by 3 TD's, at least.

Historically, tough for both teams on the home turf. Actually, I just hope LSU comes in with a lot to lose. Otherwise, a freewheeling Bengal bunch could be dangerous.

Wasn't that the mantra last season coming off our NC year? Me thinks more of a hope than science. I've been wondering about the psyche of the Tigers since the 2011 meltdown in New Orleans. But again nothing scientific, just trying to interpret the trend. But I like we are both watching, carefully.

If I'm right, I prefer the beer you buy me is a quality microbrewery beer and none of that domestic Clydesdale urine they serve most places in Bama.

I'm going to buy you one anyway. Something to cry in, if LSU ain't paying attention at Jerry's World. :)
