if in fact he is named the head coach. Remember what we all thought when Saban came in here. We have to at least give Miles a chance. Will he be a Saban? Probably not. We just lost one of the best coaches in college football. Certainly in the top 5.

Having said that we need to take a step back and see how Miles plays out. :lsug:

I'll wait until someone is named before I give anyone a chance. And then I'll give them a chance because there is nothing else I can do.

I remember what I thought about when Saban got hired, I loved it. I knew would get back into the top half of the SEC with Saban.

Sorry since I live in Big 12 Country and I have seen him coach on MANY occasions. He is a terrible hire and its a give up hire. He was the one coach besides Tuberville I was praying LSU would not consider. I got one out of two it appears.

Two questions to all Les Miles fans on this board:

    (1) I've head it mentioned, time and again, that Les has a $1 million dollar buyout in his current deal. Do you honestly think this man is worth spending $1 million dollars more to bring to Baton Rouge than it took to bring some guy named Saban to Baton Rouge from East Lansing?

    (2) If, by some f'ked up logic, #1 comes to pass, do you hold firm in contract negotiations and insist on not putting an out clause to Michigan in his contract?

We're not freaking Tulane or SMU here. LSU, at this point in time, should automatically flush any coaching candidate who even thinks of leaving LSU for another college job.

Well it looks like Marine Tiger and I may be the only people on the Les bandwagon. Not to worry, next year when we do not miss a beat there will be plenty of room for everyone here to hop on.

Miles is 28-21 at Ok St.

High-Zinger is a Gator booster. He made certain that LSU would be looking for a coach in mid to late December, just to make sure that all of the other schools needing a HC would have plenty of time to make the hires. His plan worked beautifully. Florida had Meyer hired before HZ even approached Saban.

I want to give Les Miles or whoever a chance but things are just depressing right now.
We thought we could get a few other candidates that might be more at the top of the
    list.

I will root like hell for whoever but the way this whole thing has happened and todays
game is very depressing right now.

Its a tough new year already, I just pray JR can play consistantly next year or like he
    did today.
I hope to god we don't have to have another QB situation like this year for next year.

Unless things have changed under Bertman, LSU will not do two things:
    1) Pay a coach's buyout. If he wants the job enough, he'll pay it.
    2) Include a buyout in a coach's contract. If he wants to leave, let him go.
