    DEFENSE wins championships. Maybe, someday, the PAC 12 and others will learn that.

    Not just the Pac 12 or other conferences. The yappers on the sports shows. The pundits. The 'experts'.

    LSU has given up 4 TDs all year vs SEC competition. Yet I guarantee you'll see predictions this week of Arky beating LSU 35-20 or so.

    Mark May, who USED to be decent, not sure what happened...said last night that the X Factor for Arky is Joe Adams returning punts. He's the best in the country according to May. I promise he doesn't realize LSU gives up less that a HALF A FOOT per return this year. They don't notice things like that. They only see high octane production. It's why the LSU/Bama game was alleged to NOT live up to the hype by most.

    .... the big lunkers live in the 'hot and steamy'. . It takes extra flashy lures to coax them to the 'cool and wet'. ..We're getting a lot of bites,.. but most get away before we can land them.

    The most important players on any team is defensive linemen.
    Last year, lsu had pathetic qb play. We were almost dead last in passing offense. We only lost two games by a touchdown each to the national champion and a team that played in a bcs bowl. We still had an 11 win season with absolutely piss poor dismal qb play because our defense was amazing. If you have a great defensive line you can stop the run and rush the qb. If the ducks had lsu's defensive line they would be unbeatable.

    Mark May is now teamed up with Lou Holtz,.. in a comedy routine.

    It's all a big show,.. laugh at the clowns.

    No offense, but that's not exactly true. As a fisherman, I appreciate it, but it's not exactly true.

    The reason they "jump in the boat" is because we fish for them. You guys fish for DeAnthony Thomas, Kenjon Barner, LaMike, and so forth. We've had one guy like that in a decade, and he hardly played.

    It truly is a different style of play. Shirley you can't deny that...

    Well, I was thinking about giant elite lineman, who are very rare, and seldom leave the South to live in Eugene. Enjoy the fact that LSU is living amongst the giants, who already love the SEC.

    It's not easy being green,...

    The teams in the south value diffrent style players than the teams in other parts of the country. We know we must have big, strong linemen because the sec plays old fashion smashmouth football. The west coast teams and many of the big whatever teams rely on flashy offenses and thus recruit smaller, faster defensive players to cover these speed based teams. You can't do that in the sec. If you don't have big strong beast playing on defense how are you going to beat teams with backs like richardson and lattimore? The west coast teams play fancy gimmick spread offenses and do not know how to play a team that's just as fast as they are but smashmouth minded.

    This isn't the NFL, we can't buy players. After signing day, we have to play,.. who we got.

    Granted, a power rushing offense is the most reliable to have, and conjoined with a great defense,.. well that's a champion type team.

    Oregon doesn't have the players this year, to win with that style.
    Until the Ducks have the horses,... choosing to play smashmouth against smashmouth, would be stupid,.. suicidal.

    Chip has said that he forms the style to fit his players, but I think he covets the horses, but not the oxen. Kelly is addicted to speed, I don't see that changing.

    The Ducks are in the public eye, and this is only Chip's 3rd year as a head coach at any level. I think Oregon's best days are yet to come.

    It's a great day to be a Duck.
