to me the problem is there’s little discussion of point counter point. it’s more like, “oh yeah? well you’re stupid” and the inevitable “no, you’re stupid”’and it goes down hill from there

this is a discussion board and there should be discussion not opinion statements as fact denigrating others’ points of view

I am happy with 4-0 and am not happy with much of how they have gotten there, as it seems we have a lack of focus much of the time

the reply should be why op believes that to be not so, not that I should “learn football”

ed and slinger have done well up till now let’s hope he can sustain and build

While I haven't been extremely supportive of O I also haven't been extremely negative. I wasn't big on the hire mainly because of his previous record, as well as the drama that he was apart of at UT. I am however very hesitant about the decision of E as OC but only time will tell with either. I am a LSU fan first, O's success means LSU's success so I cheer for him to be successful.

I do not need LSU to win by 50 every week, I just want to see good clean, disciplined, and consistent football. My critiques come from what we have seen in terms of the penalties, receivers that can't seem to catch, and an offense that can't seem to find any sort of continuity. While LSU has done some things very well, LSU has also done some things very very ugly that need cleaned up right rickety tick. But in the grand scheme of things, it is extremely hard to bitch about O when we're sitting at 4-0 and #5 in the Country.

It’s funny, because I read comments that O and the players say after games... it’s usually the same things most folks on this board say. So, yeah.

I think, because we love LSU, we don’t always think critically about our team.

For example, realistically we had zero proven (key word proven) returning talent on O. Realistically this is why people picked us to lose 4 games and 2 of our 1st 4.

The O has done some good things and some bad things. We have gotten better though and when they give max effort, it shows.

Now, the D is super talented, when thy play.

And they sure as shit turn it up when it’s needed. So until the team fails to make the plays when needed, I will give them a pass for continuous work.

I would say most thought we would be 2-2 or 3-1 at this point.

We still have problems and so does every team we face minus Bama. We have more than UGA, but, we certainly have the talent to punch them in the face.

But next up is Ole Piss!!!

With the game at home I think we have a great shot at beating them.

I've used message boards for many years for various subjects. Every single one of them had the same kind of issues that are being discussed in this thread. With that said, most college football fans tend to be quite sensitive and at the same time, critical. We have to remember that... anytime we feel the need to "one up" someone who has tried to attack one of us for speaking our opinions. The moment you decide to reply, you've added to that problem. Back in the day when I was active on various metal music forums, and much younger, I can remember having threads that were hundreds of pages long and only the first 5 posts were actually "on topic".

Keep in mind, the people on the other side of the screen are friends here, because we are fans of the same team, almost siblings. One thing about Louisiana people... we're all like family here. It's ok to have different opinions. Just be careful you're not "reacting" to a post rather than simply adding in your own view. Some folks are very stern in their views of things, especially us old folks; we don't change our thought process so easily.

Anyway, this post helped me kill just enough time to head to lunch LOL :)
