Didn't do much tonight though his team beat St Thomas More 14-13 on a blocked PAT in overtime. Doucet scored in OT on a reception from backup QB Beau Lasseigne. It was Early's only play at WR on the night. SM has a sophomore RB named Kennedy Tyler. He picked up 116 yards on 16 carries. He looks to be the real deal and Saban et al probably have him penciled in for 2006.
Nope. Another interesting thing. Doucet scrapped his normal #11 to wear #7 in honor of his favorite player, Michael Vick. I don't read any omens into that. I taped the game if anyone wants it.
Let me ask you a question...I have always followed recruiting through web sites, lists,etc...I have actually only seen a few top recruits actually play a game. My question is, when you watch Early Doucet play, is there that much a discrepency in talent that he has? I mean, does Rivals have him at #1 because of his size, speed, and hands...or does he dominate the opponents that badly??
right now coach isnt playing Early as hard as he could be playing him. Early is not 100% as it is at the moment due to an ankle injury i believe.. and they dont want to risk hurting him badly in highschool football.. thats what i believe anyways anyhow WOO HOO TRAVEL TO NEW ORLEANS TO PLAY JOHN CURTIS THIS FRIDAY.. GO TIGERS
To answer your question, he does not appear to have the "man against boys" talent, but he is playing out of position at QB. Last night, he lined up wide left in OT on 3rd and 10 and ran a fade pattern against double coverage and had 5-6 yards seperation when he caught the ball.
