He says he wants to do it Friday at the Gym or cafeteria so that everyone at school can be there to hear it officially.

One more down, Xavier Carter is next.

When do you think Xavier will give us his commitment? Do you think that we are looking at this week or next?

Jay Lucas probably by next Friday.
Herman Johnson (6' 8") and Jason Watkins (6' 9") within 2 weeks. Now that's what I call a pair of bookend offensive tackles.
Marlon Favorite will probably announce late January.
Xavier Carter will be our BIG National Signing Day committment.

Then it's on to the "Texas steals":

Marcus Walker and Kerry Franks in the last days. This would give LSU 27 recruits.

LSU still has some shot at Xavier Mitchell, David Holbert, Tony Bell, Phillip Mbakogu, Calvin Darity and Thomas Herring. It's possible LSU gets one of these giving us 28 total recruits. This would guarantee LSU #1 in both Insiders and Rivals recruiting polls.

    They are falling like flies.

Have we offered Lucas? I thought he was a grade risk.

The thinking on Lucas is that LSU will try and get him to do what Vincent did last year, sit out, take the courses necessary, pass the ACT and then enroll midterm, if the NCAA doesn't change that as the coaches meetings had that on their agenda.

Lucas would then be a 2005 signee rather than a 2004 signee under that scenario. That makes sense, since we already have Hester on board and we have less schollys than we have good prospects who want them.

Speaking of signing past recruits, did the numbers ISTSTL posted above take into account that we will resign Tim Washington and perhaps Daryl Johson who originally signed last year?

I did not. So we are looking at 28-30 signings.

But I was putting up the numbers only affecting this years recuitment standings as far as rivals and insiders is concerned.
