This might sound simple and somewhat stupid but here it goes. I have heard a lot of talk saying that LSU losing its QW points due to replaying UGA is crap. What i would like to know is if the BCS committee can make a resolution this year, or in this case, this week on this problem. I know the SEC was able to change around the 3 way tie by changing up the rules but can the BCS change this so late in the season.

I would like to see something where LSU would lock in the QW points against a team the day of the match and would keep them regardless of the outcome. Also, if LSU were to win they would accrue any extra QW points if UGA were to remain in the top ten.

But i digress from the question. Can anyone take a shot at this?

They'll be lining up to show respect and "HELP LSU" with a rule change this late in the season.

Hey, you got any of that "stuff" left ... it's gotta be good.

I do know one thing. If LSU beats UGA next weekend, chances are UGA would fall out of the top ten, hence making us lose our QW. I heard some commentary on 98.1 yesterday that, assuming LSU will win, it's actually to our advantage to beat UGA by as little as possible, so as to lessen the severity of UGA's fall in the rankings. I sure hope Saban doesn't care about that, tho. Just beat them.

The only problem is is that LSU also needs to influence the voters. We need to influence the various computers out their too. Unforunately I don't know whether we need to favor UGA still being in the top 10 vs. really REALLY dominating the hell out of the Bulldogs and send a statement to all parties concerned that LSU deserves to be in the NC. However, this all moot right now for all but the theorists since we still need to win next Saturday. Still, speculating never hurt anybody :)

Oh, I almost forgot to add on to the end of my last reply but i think it should be seperate now that i think about it. While LSU still has to play UGA, our friends from USC still have just *one* more game of their own. Lets not forget that the pressure isn't just on us :D

That's the catch. You weigh the possibility of maintaining a QW versus impressing voters. I think swaying the voters can more than make up for the, what, -0.4 points we'd lose from losing the QW?

    agreed!

the polls and computers will help more than the sos/qps will.
