Enough already. Somebody make it stop, please.

Groups of people outside Tiger Stadium late Monday afternoon greeted University of Tennessee buses by throwing beer bottles and banging on windows, cracking three of them, LSU Police confirmed.

You can assume those were not Vanderbilt fans causing trouble.

LSU fans get defensive when the rest of the Southeastern Conference labels them the worst fans in the SEC. Stories like this one make it hard to defend them.

Let's be clear: The actions of a misguided few can affect the reputation of the many. No one is justified in thinking all LSU fans act that way, but many will draw generalities because of this latest stain upon Tigertown.

It's hard to defend these actions, but I'm sure someone will show up to say it happens everywhere or they just make up these stories.

This is the one thing I truly hate about some LSU fans...

It's so disappointing to see this kind of stuff. If you take a look around other boards, LSU fans are considered by many to be some of the worst in the country when it comes to treatment of opponents' fans. I don't think that reputation is accurate having witnessed the hospitality provided to our guests in the past. But...behavior of this sort doesn't help to improve the image and should not be tolerated. Sad that a few ill-bred sumbitches, most of whom have probably never seen the inside of a college classroom, think this is acceptable and appropriate behavior. :dis:

Sad part is, there are scores and scores of more incidents involving LSU tailgaters taking in opposing fans than this kind of nonsense. But you'll never read about that in the paper, and it'll never overtake the image that others have of us. We ain't all frat boys!

All it takes is a couple of idiots to do something like this and it makes us all look bad. As much as people don't want to get involved in things like this it is the fans responsibility to police those that can't handle their alcohol or a highly charged atmosphere like pregame. The good and well behaved far out number the drunk and criminaly insane and everyone, not just some but every single one of us that sees something like this happen should immediately get involved. It's the only way these semi-isolated incidents will stop.JMO   :(

Problem with that is, those jackasses will bring you down with them. If I see some idiotic LSU fans pulling some stunts like that and I try to stop them, what do you think will happen? That's right, a good old-fashioned Donny Brook. Maybe even a Brew Ha-ha (or however in the hell you spell it). Then what happens? We ALL get taken to LSUPD and ALL miss the game. Then you have to deal with legal consequences. Seems like too much trouble to get in over some low-lifes, ya know?

Add to the mix a few idiots from other schools who come to the game seeking to provoke a reaction. Both sides go home with their horror story, and in their myopic little world, believe the confrontation is depictive of the other school's fan base. In todays accusatory society people want to believe the worse about others, as if that somehow exonerates them from their own shortcomings. If one has to defame another school to feel superior, he/she isn't hanging their hat on anything worthwhile that their university has accomplished. Real fans want others to respect their school, hooligans don't care what they destroy.

While helping some friends load up their car before the game, I saw a bunch of drunk LSU fans get in the face of two TN fans. The LSU fans were cursing up a storm talking about how we were going to kick thier A$$es and what not. I thought about saying something but it would have started more problems. When people are that insanely drunk their isn't much reasoning you can do with them. It pissed me off to a high degree because it reminded me of the negative posts about our fans from other schools on this board.

Ok...I was actually there when the team buses pulled up. I don't know where Carl Dubois got this information from, but this did NOT happen while or right after UT got off the buses. The worst thing that happened while they exited was a student had a fishing pole w/a donut tied on to the end and was yelling at Phat Phil to come and get it.

Again, I was there along w/my father-in-law and his 2 brother-in-laws - this DID NOT happen while the team, crew, etc exited the buses. We were there for about 15 after they got off - if it happened, it happened after that.
