From the Morning Advocate--Does Miles Know What He Faces? Excerpt: Kind of interesting, but definitely true. I'm beginning to think we'll get, to use Trev Albert's word, "serviceable" play out of the QB position, so the difference between this team playing to its potential or not playing to its potential may come down to the guy wearing the head coach's hat. From what I've seen, heard and read, this is exactly the sort of opportunity Les Miles has been seeking all these years--the chance to lead a team to a championship, to be the best of the best. If there is such a thing as the man and the moment meeting, well, here it is. Two months, indeed. :helmet:
Sounds like a good radio topic. ha Personally, I think he's in a no win situation. Sounds to me like that could be good for the show. I'm doing it by myself tomorrow so I always like to get the people riled up with good topics. I'm also shooting for NL/ AL all star snubs and flubs as well as review of War of Worlds. I figured I'd run that one by you guys before unleashing it. I always try to make it entertaining when I'm running the ship alone. I always like to get the opinons of my fellow forum buddies.
Let me add that fan support, especially during those crucial home games, is part of the mix, too. Tiger Stadium has to be, really and truly, Death Valley for all visitors this season. I guarantee there will be a critical moment or two when the crowd will make a difference, from drawing an opponent into an untimely false start penalty to just pumping up the team---just like during the Georgia game in 2003---with a well-timed chant or show of support when they need it the most. Coach Miles won't be the only one who'll need to "let 'er rip" in order to post a double-digit win total this season. Beating Tennessee, Florida, Auburn, Arizona St at home...that'll be tough.
Coach Miles doesn't have it so bad. All he has to do, to keep the Tiger Nation happy, is win the SEC. :hihi:
NO doubt there. But, have you ever doubted Tiger Stadium? As long as the game is close, that place will rock. Last year we saw how dull it can be with garbage games that were boring. But, this year, I cant see really any blow outs in that mix. Maybe the AZST game will be one sided, but still competitive. Then the gimmie games will also get boring. But, when it comes to Tenn,Auburn,Florida, the valley will ROCK!
This is old, but, 84,271 voters can't be wrong. http://www.msnbc.com/modules/sports/collegefootballstadiums/tiger.asp?cp1=1&0sp=s1b6
lol...thats good stuff. But, I dont think its b/c people get more drinking time that the place is more psyched. Cmon, we all know that if there is a day game in Death Valley, the people will just start drinkin the night before. Just having some fun wiht ya.:geauxtige
