    In no way am I giving up hope of upsets/defeats putting an 11-1 LSU on Destiny's Door come early December, but as the first week in November arrives, it's time to consider what's behind door #2: Who does an SEC Champion LSU face in the Sugar?

    Thoughts?

    CFN has the SEC champ in the Sugar against...West Virginia.

    Jeez, that sucks...

    My hope if LSU wins the SEC but doesn't go to Pasadena...an LSU/USC Sugar Bowl (assumes Trojan season-ending loss to the Bruins and undefeated Texas and Va Tech in the Rose). A win over the Troy Boys in the Sugar to cap a 12-1 season...yeah, I'll say it: LSU as 2006 preseason #1.

    I guess that'd be right. AU faced Va. Tech last year. Is it Big East #1 vs SEC #1?

    My bad: it has the potential to be even worse than W. Va. as the Mountaineers still have to play Pitt---the same Pitt that lost to Ohio---for the Big East title.

    LSU versus...Pitt? Please, say it ain't so!

    And I'm still miffed that we had to play Illinois in the Sugar Bowl after the '01 season. Out of all of the usual "interesting" Big 10 champs to play, we had to be stuck with Illinois, who's one about three games since then.

    This year is shaping up to be a similar match-up with someone boring.
