Has anyone heard any news concerning any LSU player opting early for NFL. .. Spears, Clayton, Hill specifically. Also what is the status of Ken Hollis?

Clayton has the best prospects as of right now. I still think Spears and Hill haven't developed fully and would be very risky. I haven't seen much talk about them in regards to current NFL prospects. As for Ken Hollis, I beleive he received a redshirt.

I wouldn't ever expect to hear much talk of such issues, if any, by players during the season as long as Saban coaches for LSU. He does an exceptional job of keeping these guys focused and having things such as this dealt with and discussed after the season ends. Take the issue of Matt Mauck possibly opting for dental school for example. Local media tried very very hard to get a discussion going on this with Mauck, Saban, etc, but to no avail. These players are focused!

Saban gave his stock answer to this question last year. He said he sits down with the player and he advising him if it is in his best interest to leave or not. He did say he doesn't think underclassmen should leave early, if they would be drafted after the 1st round.

I think we will see less Jr's leaving, because of Saban's success at LSU. Players will have much more national exposure, than LSU players had in the past. More will be named to All American and award list, because of this attention. Players will also benifit from being drafted higher.

LSUGradin99 is right, he has these guys focused, and they are not thinking about all of this stuff right now.

To go early you really need to do something to set yourself apart, something like a Larry Fitzgerald type of season.
