Double murder means that there were two murders. A murder cannot occur if a life does not exist.

I think a simple definition could suffice. We could say, for instance, it is a life if it has a heart-beat. Science cannot define life without us assigning a definition for life.

We can't define it, the liberals and conservatives won't agree. Has to be decided biologically, my post was clear enough, I think.

The biological purpose of sex is to reproduce, that's not too deep to grasp.

I don't think it was. Apparently mine wasn't either. How can biology define life?

I don't see the relevance. Why does this matter to anything?

There are living creatures without hearts. Again, people are attaching special rules to human life because of the moral issues.

What exactly do you mean by this? Life is already defined--look it up. Who is "us" and why should science care?

"We", Americans, have to define what a human life is & when it begins, which is based on biology but will be swayed by morals.

    Life – noun
    1. the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.

According to this definition, it seems that any fetus would be a life.

And the reason we must define it is because science doesn't write or enforce our laws.
