Davis out 3-5 weeks July 29, 2003 By Carter Toole HoustonTexans.com Texans rookie running back Domanick Davis suffered a broken right hand Tuesday and is expected to miss three to five weeks, the club announced tonight. Davis, the Texans' fourth-round draft pick out of LSU, injured the hand in a blocking drill during training camp practice this afternoon. X-rays later indicated a broken bone. Davis had already impressed as a return specialist through four days of camp. He was also seeing reps as one of four backup running backs on the roster. Davis left Baton Rouge as LSU’s all-time record holder in punt return (1,126) and kickoff return yards (2,078). The Texans return to the practice field tomorrow for their third set of two-a-days. The first session is at 8:45 p.m.
Man! I got season tickets just because of him. I was so looking forward to the preseason games too, b/c he was sure to see action. GEAUX #37!!!!
That's really too bad because even if he comes back in 4 weeks he's going to be so far behind. I hope he's still given a chance to contribute this season.
He will probably still be able to contribute on special teams. He should be ready for the first game.
