I didn't see the Houston Texan's game today, just the 4th quarter. DD was out of the game by then, he injured his pectoral muscle according to the game announcer. I wanted to tell everyone that Domanick is the talk of the Houston Sports shows the last couple of weeks. Over 100 yds each of his first two games. He has been interviewed on TV several times, and he seems to be positive, enthusiastic, a team oriented guy, humble, and to have a considerate character about him, and everyone likes him! The announcers mentioned DD being raised on a farm and his down to earth demeanor. His teammates acknowledge the balance he has brought to the team, and how it makes it easier to throw the ball if the run keeps the defense honest. I saw Charlie Casserly (GM of the Texans) talking about the game last week. He said clearly DD was the biggest positive surprise on the team this year. He said the Texans underestimated the talent Domanick had, and that he had been drafted solely on his ability to return kicks. DD does not return kicks for the Texans, as that job has been won by JJ Moses, who appears very good at it. Casserly said the Texans need to continue to explore how much talent DD has. They mentioned not only DD's ability to hit the hole quickly, but he is a better receiver out of the backfield than they thought. The announcers mentioned it appeared Nick Saban had underestimated how much talent DD had while at LSU; they were all surprise they had not heard more about him. (I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just reporting the news guys). I didn't see any interviews with DD when he was in college, but I like what I have seen with the Texans VERY MUCH. He seems like a great guy, and I hope he has a long and productive career here in Houston.
Davis has looked incredibly good in the last 3 games. . when he went out today and we brought Stacy Mack in, our running game took a substantial hit. I am very excited about Davis . he is running not only with great speed and elusiveness, but he is really breaking a ton of tackles . great job DD.
Not only that, but Steve McKinney, the Texans' center, even admitted in a radio interview last week that the offensive line blocks harder and better when DD is getting the ball because they know that their blocks will pay off. They have a lot of confidence in DD hitting any little hole they can make like a flash. And, he is! I hope his injury doesn't cause him to miss any more time. Great victory by the Texans today!
