It appears that Houston will get the #1 pick, and probably take Bush. Just my opinion though, since you hate to be the team that "passed" him up. I wonder where Double D would go. Hate to see him put on the bench, but he'd probably get traded with his salary. Where would be a good place? Pittsburgh? (lot of old cats up there).
I'm not sold on the Texans taking Bush. I follow the Texans very closely, and just don't see them using the #1 pick on an RB. That pick is going to be gold though, and should get them a bounty of picks. They have serious needs at quite a few positions (not just OL), and could use an extra #1, #2, and top pick next year. DD has done such a great job for the Texans, and the guy CONTINUES to improve. It would be foolish to bolster a position they're already decent at. EDIT/Caveat: Sometimes a player like Bush makes teams lose their minds, and maybe rightfully so. If they have to move DD, there are a couple of teams that could use him. Off the top of my head, Arizona (Don't do it!), Packers...
If the Texans take Bush, I would not see him as a replacement for DD. There are just so many ways that Bush could be utilized by the Texans and believe me aside from the rb position, they need help everywhere on offense. I'd expect to see Bush play some wide receiver, a lot on third and long downs, even lined up with DD at some times. As far as the rb position is concerned, he would be the backup to DD at best. Maybe not long-term, but short term definitely.
No way in hell Texas takes Bush at 1. If for some reason they do it will show you why they suck. They can get an entire o line with the value of that pick. Which is exactly what they should do. then the rest of there off season should revolve around defense. Their skill guys are not bad.
:rofl: Perfectly eloquent way of describing my thoughts. They desperately need a #2 WR though. Gaffney is great as a slot possession WR, and Mathis could develop. But Bradford couldn't start for Mississippi Valley.
