Why does everyone now think so poorly of the situation? Did you guys suddenly think that he'd turn it down, or that the Dolphins would offer it to a guy that the players like and has led them to a "stellar" 2-3 record? Or a guy whose been out of the head coaching position for over a decade now?

Chicken Little, thy name is LSU Fan!

No sh!t. Did everybody think the Dolphins would be so enamored with Shell or Bates that they would suddenly rule out Saban? Get real. Saban has been their man from day one. Except for the charade of the Rooney Rule, the ball has been in Nick's court for a week.

That's right. The bottom line is that Saban can write his own ticket right now. Mike Belotti of Oregon had this chance a few years ago. He didn't make the jump and stayed with the U. of Oregon. His stock has since gone down as that school is no longer winning. Basically if Saban wants to go, now is the time. The only thing LSU can probably offer over MIA or any other NFL club is job security - long term. With that title from last year, Saban is the next Charlie Mac around here, if he wants to be. But the same cannot be said of the Dolphins, or any other NFL club. When a coach is hired, it is only a matter of time before he is fired. Some coaches stay longer than others. It's that simple. So Saban also needs to consider what happens post-Miami. If he can find an acceptable idea of that, he goes if he wants to try to make the jump. If it is me, I stay, but that's me. The NFL has a bunch of babies in it. I love the NFL, but I love watching college players play the game more. I suspect many coaches love coaching college kids more than they love coaching the NFL. The NFL is about fame, money, and succeeding at the highest level, but it is hollow in a way.

Security is not going to be an issue. This is probably a 25 to 30 million dollar deal. He will have all the security he ever needs.

Glanville said that in response to a series of bad calls by officials, and he was referring to their job security...He was not referring to his or anyone else's coaching career...

He has all he "NEEDS" now ... with a $10MM package ... Saban is a simple man ... remember the makeover they had to perform on him recently regarding his suits ...

If Wayne will give him 4.5 a year now, he'll dig into his dumpsters and pay him 7 in a couple of years after Saban wins another NC or two

It's all about the gay drama :hihi:

Are you still here these days? You're like going back for the checkup after 4 years and 11 months, and finding out after a series of great checkups, you're no longer in remission...

Regale us all again about how we were going to go undefeated this year, and how anyone who said we might lose a game was just an idiot...Or how when LSU won the Ole Miss game, we lost our shot at the 2003 Sugar Bowl...Or how you break recruiting tape down for the LSU Coaching Staff, while also at the same time being a booster according to both LSU and the NCAA's definition and your own admissions about being a season ticket holder...Or how your daughter dates LSU football players...Or how you work in Saudi Arabia by choice so you can bet tens of thousands of dollars on LSU and lose your ass off on those and other ridiculous college football picks....Or your far fetched trips to Transylvania, Bavaria, and Never Never Land...Or the definition of a "push" in gambling...

Trust me...The laundry list of your knowledge is longer than a Tolstoy novel...and it's about as impressive as OJ's search for the real killers...

Go send someone a PM and wish their parents die of hypoglycemic shock, you prick...We can't take anymore of your "inside information"...It's just too "rich" for our blood...

A simple man being given the chance to reshape an entire NFL Franchise's football organization, from the ground up...Lynrd Skynrd didn't have Nick Saban in mind when they penned the famous lyrics, you massive tool...
