seem a little too perfect for Saban and Miami? He has said that he really doesn't want to consider the offer untill after the Bowl Game and the pretense of need to talk to Saban allows for this being but on hold till then. Additionally it makes the Miami search seem more legit by them seeming to have a doubt or concern and it also gives them the opp. to line up a couple of more interviews that (minority or otherwise) that people might not view as a sham, because hey, there is an issue with Saban.

If I was in charge of Dolphins PR this is exactally the spin I would recommend for the situation. Just a thought.

Here is a quote from this morning.

"We've had one meeting with him, Eddie and I did, and that was a get-to-know-each-other meeting," Huizenga said. "We've got more to do there yet. There are still things we didn't ask at the first meeting. It's not something we need to rush into. A lot of it is going to depend on Nick's schedule, because he has his own thing to worry about now."

    still just a thought.

Who said that? If you are referring to Saban, that's the first time I heard that statement.

IMO, I don't believe Saban, or anyone at LSU, wants to drag this thing out that long. My impression is this thing will be resolved before they board the plane at 2:30 on Christmas Day.

Yeah, Saban has said he wants to focus on the Bowl game and not consider anything else untill it is over. This was in the last 4-5 days.

Bertman also said he needs to push things along if this isn't resolved late this week (basically starting tomorrow). So it's not like Saban will have a choice in the matter. Bertman knows he can't wait until after the bowl game to find out if his head coach is going to stay. Too many current recruits teetering, and a lot of others that will stop considering LSU as a viable alternative.

Here's the only thing that's clear:

LSU is getting shafted because Nick is dragging his feet making an announcement on something he has already decided.

Thank you, Nick. I think we deserve better.

Do you mean he's pulling an Ole Miss/Tubs deal?

It's actually much worse on LSU than the Wingnut/Ole Miss situation. He left right after the end of the season. Ole Miss had time to hire a coach and get him in there for the bowl game. Whether Saban stays or goes, this is hurting recruiting and bowl game preparation. Young qb's who should be using this practice time to get a better handle on the offense don't even know if this is the offense they will be running by spring. Talks should have begun right after the Arkansas game, but I see why Saban and Sexton would wait for Miami to make the first move. Waiting until after the bowl game is unacceptable. The outcome of LSU/Iowa doesn't mean much if the entire coaching staff packs up and leaves. Saban should get on with his business and let LSU get on with theirs.

Very true indeed, if Saban lets this drag out until after the Bowl game and then leaves it would let us know a lot about what he thinks of the University he is leaving. I don't think Saban will do that to us because I really think he cares but only time will tell.
