I know it's probably a dumb question, but just wondering if they were broadcasting the games. If so, that'll be my only way of listening to the non-televised games....on WJBO.com
LSU Sports Network to Broadcast Across 47 Affiliates in 2004 08/25/04 BATON ROUGE -- Powered by three 100,000-watt stations and another six 50,000-watt stations, the LSU Sports Network will carry LSU's national champion football team into 37 states across the nation in 2004. Headlining the list of radio affiliates for the LSU Sports Network includes 50,000-watt WWL-AM out of New Orleans along with 50,000-watt KWKH-AM in Shreveport. According to Jim Hawthorne, LSU's assistant athletic director for radio and Voice of the Tigers, WWL and KWKH can be heard in 37 states as well as generating a clear signal into Mexico and Central America at night. Other 100,000-watt affiliates on the network are WDGL-FM in Baton Rouge, KNOE-FM in Monroe, and KCIL-FM in Houma. In all, 47 affiliates from four states - Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Texas - will be a part of the LSU Sports Network this year. Of the 47 affiliates, 40 are in Louisiana, five in Mississippi and one each in Arkansas and Texas. "I would find it hard to believe that there is a more powerful radio network for college athletics in the country," said Hawthorne, who oversees the LSU Sports Network said. "Our No. 1 priority as a network is making sure that wherever you are in the state of Louisiana, day or night, you should be able to catch the Tigers. With this lineup of affiliates, we've done that. "This is a very exciting time to be a part of LSU athletics and we're proud to have put together a network that reaches all the way into the northeastern part of the United States to the southwestern part of the country." Hawthorne added that thanks to LSUsports.net and the Internet, LSU football can be heard internationally as well. "The impact that LSUsports.net has had on a network has been tremendous," Hawthorne said. "We've had people email from all of the World telling us that they're listening to our broadcast of LSU sporting events." The LSU Sports Network kicks of its 2004-05 programming with the airing of Tiger Sportsline with Nick Saban on Wednesday, Sept. 1 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Superior Grill in Baton Rouge. 2004 NETWORK AFFILIATES LOUISIANA CITY CALL LETTERS POWER FREQUENCY ABBEVILLE KPEL-FM 25,000 105.1 Mhz ALEXANDRIA KFAD-FM 6,000 93.9 Khz ALEXANDRIA KSYL-AM 1,000 970 Khz AMITE WTGG-FM 6,000 96.5 Mhz BASTROP KJMG-FM 8,000 97.3 Mhz BATON ROUGE WDGL-FM 100,000 98.1 Mhz BOGALUSA WBOX-AM 1,000 920 Mhz BOGALUSA WBOX-FM 3,000 92.9 Mhz BUNKIE KEZP-FM 18,000 104.3 Mhz EUNICE KEUN-AM 1,000 1490 Khz FERRIDAY KFNV-FM 18,500 107.1 Mhz HAMMOND WFPR-AM 1,000 1400 Khz HOMER KYLA-FM 50,000 106.7 Mhz HOUMA KCIL-FM 100,000 107.5 Mhz JENA KJNA-FM 6,000 102.7 Mhz JENNINGS KJEF-AM 5,000 1290 Khz JONESVILLE KTGV-FM 6,000 105.1 Mhz LAKE CHARLES KLCL-AM 5,000 1470 Khz LEESVILLE KJAE-FM 3,000 93.5 Mhz LEESVILLE KLLA-AM 1,000 1570 Khz MANY KWLV-FM 25,000 107.1 Mhz MARKSVILLE KAPB-FM 3,000 97.7 Mhz MINDEN KASO-AM 5,000 1240 Khz MONROE KNOE-FM 100,000 101.1 Mhz MOREAUVILLE KLIL-FM 3,000 92.1 Mhz MORGAN CITY KFXY-AM 1,000 1490 Khz MORGAN CITY KBZZ-FM 25,000 96.7 Mhz NATCHITOCHES KZBL-FM 50,000 100.7 Mhz NEW IBERIA KANE-AM 1,000 1240 Khz NEW ORLEANS WWL-AM 50,000 870 Khz OAK GROVE KWCL-FM 23,000 96.7 Mhz OPELOUSAS KSLO-AM 1,000 1230 Khz RUSTON KPCH-FM 50,000 97.7 Mhz SHREVEPORT KWKH-AM 50,000 1130 Khz SLIDELL WSLA-AM 1,000 1560 Khz SULPHUR KKGB-FM 25,000 101.3 Mhz THIBODAUX KTIB-AM 5,000 640 Khz VILLE PLATTE KVPI-FM 3,000 92.5 Mhz VILLE PLATTE KVPI-AM 500 1050 Khz WINNSBORO KMAR-FM 3,000 95.9 Mhz ARKANSAS CROSSETT KWLT-FM 25,000 102.7 Mhz MISSISSIPPI HATTIESBURG WBKH-AM 5,000 950 Khz JACKSON WSFZ-AM 5,000 930 Khz McCOMB WHNY-AM 5,000 1250 Khz MONTICELLO WRQO-FM 50,000 102.1 Mhz PICAYUNE WKSY-FM 50,000 106.1 Mhz TEXAS HEMPHILL KTHP-FM 6,000 103.9 Mhz
Thanks. Well, I don't see WJBO on there, so I guess I'll start going down this list searching for a live feed.
Go to www.LSUsports.net. They always broadcast the games on the website.:thumb: :geaux: ldskule: lefire:
I just read on someone's website that LSUsports.net broadcasts audio for the games for free. It's only the video that costs. Is this true? I would subscribe to the video, but b/c of my slow @ss internet connection, I have to settle for audio only.
WJBO broadcasted the LSU football games in Baton Rouge for decades, but lost the contract to FM 98.1 in the 1990's.
