Now you can only win a "share" of the national title at best. We are rootin for the Tigers though. Go SEC.

no..doesn't damper at all..what's wrong with a split..i mean, 3 teams had one loss and now 2 of them can win a national title...my friends at CU and at Washington still get excited about the year they won the title..even if it was a split...until ncaa football has a playoff, we have to accept two champs..

Due to the BCS' elimination of the AP's (or any other independent poll's) power to declare an official National Championship- a true split is impossible.

I have to be very honest. I am very depressed today, Not because of a USC win. I still think USC would have 3 losses had they been in the SEC....

This might come off a bit dramatic, but I am just going to post my thoughts here...

My entire life as a person from Louisiana, and a die hard LSU fan all we have wanted was a chance to play for a National Title in Football. For us LSU fans and our team to get some respect nationwide, on and off the field, for our state and our people to get some respect, even if a football team had to get it for us. To be able to pick up a USA today and read about how great LSU was this year. How they earned their shot at the National Title. All the tailgate party discussions, the Dinardo years, Curly Hallman, the stress of Saban to the NFL rumors..

It was supposed to be our turn in the spotlight, it was supposed to be All LSU all the time.
Now I have essentially blocked myself out of National Media, I did not watch the USC game, I did not watch Sports Center, or College Gameday.... Because its all about how the Sugar Bowl is a joke, LSU and OU are jokes...

It has really ruined what I had hoped this was going to be. Seriously I have been waiting for this moment my entire life as an LSU fan, I have been a season ticket holder for years, struggled to find the money for it. I travel to all the bowl games. I have been made fun of here in Texas because of my passion for LSU and my home state...

This was our turn for the spotlight our team earned its shot, they went 12-1 won the SEC. LSU clearly belongs there.

But all over the US today, people are once again dumping on our program and what we have waited for as LSU fans our entire life.

So yes, it has ruined it for me. Its not what I had hoped. Not the USC win. USC sucks. The fact we have clamored for a little respect. Sure some 18 year old kids had to get it for us. But being someone who if forced to live out of state, LSU football means much more then a football game. Its a chance for us to be proud. It means a lot.

Maybe I put to much into LSU football. It effects my moods, my work day everything. I really was looking forward to this moment, and it seems once again we have been dumped on because we played by the rules and the media did not like the outcome.

Sad thing LSU was lost in all of this, LSU deserved its shot, it got there fair and square, won its games, won its Conference.

I believe in my heart the winner on Sunday is the best team in the nation, the BCS did what it was supposed to do. But apparently it does not matter.

So yeh it F*&cking sucks, not because of USC because our moment, one we have waited for is not what we expected.

What USC did to Mich. is irrelevant to the Tigers. It detracts nothing from the job that Nick and the boys have done this season, and I couldn't give a rat's ass about what Ivan Maisel, Trev Alberts, Mark May, or anyone else thinks. They can all kiss my Tiger lovin' ass--purple on one cheek, gold on the other.

Southern California can call themselves National Champions, or AP #1, or Horny Harriet if they want to. Whatever blows their hair back.

The Sugar Bowl will be held Sunday, and the crystal National Championship trophy will be awarded to the winner. The Rose Bowl was a sideshow.

Well, thta seems a little harsh! I don't think anyone disrespects your state. I mean we are all brothers...right? I can see where living in Texas and not being a texas fan would be a little tough. And I am sure you have heard a certain amount of disrespect for your state there. But, don't judge us all by the few! I wonder if OU or LSU played Michigan inthe Rose Bowl and the other played USC in the Sugar, would it have been different? Clearly all three teams had one loss, so we all had the chance to eliminate this controversy but we blew it one time or another. So, here we are. I say the right two teams are in teh Sugar Bowl for whole crystal ball of wax! Screw the AP, they are just trying to find something to write about. With ESPN on in the background, if I hear "the land of troy" one more time, I'm throwing something through the tv. Anyway, fear not TexTiger. The game will be played and the proper champion crowned. After reading your post, h*ll I may cheer for the Tigers now!!! Tuck Fexas and were your colors proudly. Though you live amongst the enemy, you have many friends on your side. Everyone loves to hate texas!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will dampen the Sugar bowl for now because I can't see either Saban or Stoops having the 4 amigos talk like they had with thier buddy Carrol. This wonderful chat they were having is just the sort of thing the like to show on ESPN because Pete looks like your friend instead of a coach. I think they all went out and had pizza after they left the Rose Bowl

To some degree their was a let down for me last night but today the bottomline is not once did anybody say yesterday's game was for any sort of national championship.

The only "national championship" and trophy presentation will take place about 11 pm in the Superdome on Sunday night.

    So now I'm pumped again.

In the end, USC's trophy reads "Rose Bowl Champion". Nothing more, nothing less.
