i saw an entire 'outside the lines nightly' piece on cal getting snubbed from the BCS picture last night. the way the pac-10 commish was sobbing, you'd think that cal was denied a bowl game altogether. then he got on his soap box about how he thinks the votes of the coach's should be revealed, as if he was going to go cry to them or something. gimme a freaking break!

whats worse, they had some AP writer on there who was believed to be the deciding vote that put UT in the rose bowl. he had the perfect opportunity to tell the commish (they were on at the same time) exactly why cal didnt deserve to be there (weaker schedule, one ranked opponent, etc.). yet he pussyfooted around the issue, sounding more like a damn politician than a man with an opinion. i wanted to vommit.

what the hell else are these little west-coast snots going to cry about next? its no wonder most ppl dont take them seriously as a FOOTBALL conference. football requires strength and dignity, something they've shown absolutely none of over the past year. i hope cal gets slaughtered in the holiday bowl.

It's funny how they see that Cal doesn't deserve to be there, but they have their blinders on for USC...

Just a different thought on the subject...

Last year, all year long, the national media had the nation convinced that Oklahoma was going to play USC for the national championship. "Two of the greatest teams ever"... When the final numbers were worked out, USC was on the outside looking in.

This year the national media annointed Cal as the Pac 10 Rose Bowl representative the day after their close loss to USC. For the past couple of months all we have heard is speculation of which Big 10 team was going to face Cal. One problem though.. Just like last year, when the numbers were worked out, a Pac 10 team was on the outside looking in.

The media tried AGAIN this year to place a team into a BCS bowl game.

When we played in the Rose Bowl two years ago, the Pac 10 whined big time about the sanctity and tradition of their precious Rose Bowl be tarnished.

    F them.

I've never thought of it that way. Great post! I can't bring myself to give you positive rep points anymore though. I might have to get a widescreen monitor to see that line of them beneath your name.
