Does one game really determine where a recuit goes?

I have read a few things about this. I also know the deciding factor for Herman Johnson was the sugar bowl.

Doesn't show much faith in a school if a recuit picks a school over which team wins. Unless he is in love with both schools, but its still beyond me that this happens.

Does this seem a bit odd to any of you?

    Different strokes for different folks.

I would say that if you are really torn between two schools and one of them beats the tar out of the other, that might sway you a bit.

    Depends on the game.

2001 UT/LSU OT game, hel yeah.

Day game in blowout. Not so much.

It depends on the person. If anyone here was a 5 star blue chip player and was recruited by every school in the nation, i'm sure we'd all pick LSU because we love the school and team. Some players use that logic and go to the school they are big fans of. Others who aren't big spectator fans usually go to the school that appeals to them the most, and there is no better way to get the attention from a prospect than beating the crap out of another team who is recruiting the same prospect.
Then also there is the rare breed prospects who do their own recruiting of the schools to see where they can fit in the best and earliest.

Several players have commited to schools this year even though the team they were visiting lost. Like others have stated, different strokes for different folks. when comparing to great programs such as the recruits who were considering both LSU and OU in 2003/2004, I can see why the Tigers win may have been the deciding factor with both schools offering so much.

Thats difficult to say. There are usually so many aspects which go into a recruits decision that one game probably doesn't matter. For an LSU guy, an LSU loss probably wouldn't sway him. But for a guy who is on the fence, and all things are equal, yeah, a win would help, especially if the teams playing are the two vying for his services.

Think about it. If you are undecided about which horse to pick in a race, and all things are equal, you going to take the one who just won last week, or the one that he beat?

It does affect them, especially if they are there in person.

Someone told me, you could guess who probably :hihi: , that his deciding factor towards coming here was hearing a Nick Saban post-game speech after a win against Ole Miss, so yeah, one game matters to those stuck 50-50

Unless they find a quarterback, an offensive line, and an offensive coordinator, OU has absolutely no shot at beating Fexas.
