Whenever I see Ghouliani I feel disgusted that this guy could be our next president. If it comes down to it, I will be voting anti-Ghouliani. He really comes off as a slimy politician.
I admit that I haven't fully explored each politician's stance, but I don't mind the guy at first blush. Some of his policies in NYC before being mayor were unusually effective, though I'm not sure of the Constitutional implications of some of them.
As far as republicans, Rudy leans more towards the center, which is good. But he's a Republican and they have to go.
Are these polls where he is the clear republican front runner based simply on name recognition? I can't understand why anyone would look favorably on him. Maybe I should do research before I definitively say the guy is terrible, but he provokes a primordial revulsion in me that is hard to look past.
Guiliani is awesome and my man of choice. Socially liberal and economically conservative. Really the only things I don't like about him is his 2nd amendment stance and illegal immigration but I can choke those down for his continued pimping of keeping taxes low, enlarging free trade agreements, and the war on terror. I would support all of the GOP people though, except for crazy Ron Paul and psuedo nanny-stater Huckabee.
I think socially liberal Republicans are the worst kinds of politicians imaginable. Ron Paul and Huckabee are way more about personal liberty than any of the other Republican candidates. Paul is the one most likely to get my vote.
Is Ron Paul crazy, or is the current political climate crazy? Ron Paul wants to return to the America that the founding fathers foresaw. People are way too reliant on the government and Ghouliani will continue on with the status quo. Ghouliani is a pandering politician, not a brave leader. He doesn't seem to have an ounce of conviction.
Why? Personally, i'm more socially centrist but very very economically conservative which is why I bite the bullet and vote republican because economics are my big thing. Which is why I like Guiliani so much because he is closest to most of my views. I actually do like most of Ron Paul's platform but I can't vote for someone who advocates isolationism like it will solve all of our problems. Huckabee, however, i take issue with a number of things: advocate for fair trade, supports abortion and anti-gay marriage amendments, supports a nationwide smoking ban in public places, supports in-state tuition for illegals, among other things. He is very charismatic and might make a decent VP but I couldn't vote for him for President.
