Who are the starters after Tac returns at PG? To me (a basketball novice), Tac Minor seems to be a selfish player who makes alot of dumb mistakes? I have wondered why he continues to start. He seems to lack the judgement and attitude that a coach would want in his point guard. Am I wrong? Who are the primary backups? When would Brady get fired if he continues to have seasons like 7 of the previous 8? What is your prediction for how the team will finish in regards to SEC and NCAA tournament based on this talent and Brady's coaching? Is Brady a good coach? Why? Who takes Bass's position?
This is a DEEP team if no one gets hurt/quits... Remember the name: Tyrus Thomas... He will be the next big thing
There was an article in The Advocate today about Tyrus Thomas and Garrett Temple and how much potential they have. There were references to Stomile Swift in the potential department...
lmao, we're anything but deep. We'll go 7 with Minor, 6 without. Both Rolle and Voogd are very raw, we'll be lucky to get either to contribute this year.
Davis, Mitchell, Mitchell, Minor, Temple, Thomas, Gransburry those are 7 guys without listing the two guys you mentioned... I think this will be a solid little team
I don't see anyone on that list who is going to post 22 ppg in place of Brandon Bass. Tack lacked the speed discipline last year and Davis was atrocious at the line. Even assuming that they are both improved in that area, they can't lead the team based on their skill. Perhaps Davis has matured...but there aren't enough experienced guards to work with him effectively. And we all know Brady's coaching reputation around here...not gonna tocuh that one. I kind of doubt any of the freshmen are going to step up in a leadership position and help carry the team. I feel that we will be decent enough to be a competitor within the SEC, but once the tourney comes around, if we even make it, we won't get far.
Garrett Temple and Tyrus Thomas are going to come out of a RS freshman year and contribute? Guees what. Basketball players rarely redshirt. That should say something about their ability. If Brady thought they weren't even decent enough to figure into our rotation last year when we had no bench then I highly doubt we want them playing this year. I don't expect anything out of Grasnberry, he won't beat out Lazare for PT.
Why would you waste a redshirt on Thomas when he would have played sparingly behind Davis/Bass? He can play! Collis Temple III was redshirted... He wasn't so bad was he?
Too bad Bass averaged 17 a game! And Davis/ T Mitchell will average more than 30 combined a game this year... which is the what Bass/Baby duo had last year
If you'll notice, however, that when the game was important or on the line, Bass went above his average, minus the first Alabama and Kentucky games. Who is going to fill his clutch performances?
