Les Miles let er rip scene? I heard its pretty good but have never seen it. Please someone post a link. Thanks in advance.
It's been posted here 5 billion times. Skim a couple of "Les" threads, I bet you will find it. :thumb:
What's the big deal? I've watched the "Let 'er Rip" video and another one ("we'll play any sucker..."). What is the big deal? Seems to me all this is is OU fans poking fun at Miles b/c he had the audacity to challenge their supremacy in the state and wouldn't roll over and play dead for them. Heck, watching these videos makes me think perhaps LSU made the right decision in hiring Miles. I'm also getting good vibes about recruiting. I'm getting bad vibes on staff hires, I'm hoping he doesn't name Bill Clay as DC. C'mon Les, step up to the challenge, expand your horizons and bring in some fresh blood for the staff!:thumb:
I kind of agree my OU buddy was blasting me yesterday, and I asked why do you dislike him and he said because he said he would put his team up against anyone before Bedlam and talked smack about his team. So I said, what do you want a man to do, say OU is their daddy and we have no chance. Fact is I kind of like that fire in a coach. It will be a change from Saban but I am looking forward to it. I like fired up coaches.
Yeah he looks fired up on the Let er Rip video. Like he wishes he could put on the pads and get out there himself. I like that. It looks like he could give a great pre-game speech to fire up the Tigers. Can't wait till North Texas rolls in here in 8 months.
I agree with everyone else that the videos make me happy that we hired Miles. I like the videos, they show the true passion that he has for the game.
We should keep a close eye on who makes his staff. There's something to be said about loyalty, sure, but a step up in class should mean a reevaluation of who you want on your staff. Great HCs can sort through available coaching talent, much like they do with their players, and hire guys that "fit" and are talented to boot. Saban did it pretty well, I'd say.
First of all, take sooner fans with a grain of salt. I don't see any problem with "let 'er rip" or other things of that nature. The observation that OU fans are miffed because Miles wouldn't kiss Stoops butt is right on target. (And putting it mildly.) Given that ya'll like that one, I found a quote in the paper here yesterday I thought you might like also: "Next Saturday, two teams are going to play. One is maybe the best team in college football and the other one is a darn good football team. We're going to play to figure out which one is which." - Les Miles on the Monday before the 2003 Bedlam game. Miles also brought back pride to the OSU program. He instituted "The Walk" through campus with the team before home games (ala Ole Miss), something that fans want to see continued. Also, the band played the school song after every home game and Miles stood on the field singing (leading actually) while no OSU fan left their seats and sung right along with him. Kind of like the game wasn't really over until everyone sang the song. That sort of pride had been really missing before Miles.
