I have no doubt that a certain level of paranoia exists in schools these days. It seems like a few times a year my kids schools go in complete lock down for one reason or another. We ain't in Kansas anymore.

First words....As-salamu alaykum. Isn't part of that to bring no harm to anyone else? This is no "kid". He is very happy to be meeting with people who want to "get rid of everything around the entire globe". The family has an attorney, they want to sue, he wants to go to MIT. If he wasn't a muslim, NONE of this positive attention happens.

You might want to ask Ahmed to build you a new sensor. I have a problem with glossing over the total lack of critical thinking and common sense of his entire family and his own disregard for his fellow students and his science teacher's instructions particularly in light of the fact that the same science teacher told him not to show it around.

And now somehow, because he was handcuffed, the entire left side of America has caused their own overreaction and it amounts to praise for stupid choices! That did not look like a clock, any more than this looks like a detonator....


Schools are under seige....from just about every angle. When something happens, anything newsworthy, people have to jump in to claim they fucked up, it just depends on what side of the spectrum you fall. It's no different than all the stories about cops. We see only the bad stories so therefore, all cops are bad. Why hasn't Obama invited a few rank and file to meet and talk? That would do more than the divisive rhetoric and now the invite to Ahmed.
