If you pull for a National Championship for an SEC team and more respect for the conference, then you will be pulling against the best case scenario for LSU.

If LSU goes to the Rose Bowl and plays USC and wins and Michigan loses to OSU then LSU has a chance to finish #2 or #3, if Florida loses to ND. But if LSU goes to the Sugar Bowl then it has no shot at a #2 national ranking, because the winner of the OSU v. Florida game would be 1 and possibly 2 and the winner of USC v. Michigan would be 2 or 3, so LSU could be #4.

So it seems LSU's best case scenario is for Florida to get the shaft from the BSC and go to New Orleans and for LSU to go to Pasadena.

So what are you hoping for, Roses for LSU, or respect for the SEC?

LSU first, SEC second. Always, without question.

    Both

We should have the long term interest of the game as the first priority.

Therefore, sorry Florida, you'll have to take one on the chin this year. That will go a long way to removing the current structure and bringing a playoff.

The SEC can then rule for many years to come.

and we get to kick SC's ass this year.

    Now, that's a Win/Win solution.

Roses for LSU also means Tigers spending a whole lot more money to see the tigers play... It will be an interesting poll.

    LSU all the way.

Michigan had their shot and couldn't pull the trigger. Florida is the SEC champ -- the conference we all constantly defend against the media and the idiot fans in the offices in the states we all moved to for gainful employment.

If Florida gets a shot and loses - no big deal - Ohio St. was a behemoth this year, right? If Florida gets a shot and wins, then maybe we can all enjoy a little validation from our non-conference cohorts.

And at the end of the day - that really doesn't matter so much anyway because there are worse fates in the world than LSU playing in the first post-Katrina Sugar Bowl.

The Rose Bowl would be fantastic - especially for the lucky "few" (relatively speaking) who make it to the game.

The Sugar Bowl would be a chance for many, many more fans to come together to celebrate - all the while giving some joy and celebration back to the town that has so often given it to us.

Yes, the Sugar Bowl would be a very good thing. But at the same time, no one on the West Coast ever really gives us respect because the only Pac-10 team we've played in recent memory was Oregon State. This is a great oppertunity for not only LSU, but the SEC- as no SEC team has played in the RB since Bama in 1946. That's right, since the year after WWII ended.

So me pulling for LSU to end up in the Rose is pulling for the SEC. As for me pulling for Florida...

Ha. Never. Sorry. Won't happen unless it helps us.

ANY other SEC team, I'm there. Even the Plain Women. But not UF.

I graduated from LSU, not the SEC. I couldn't give a damn about the other teams, especially Georgia and Auburn.

Having said that, I support truth and justice. And that requires Florida in the national championship game.

I offer no apologies for what I am about to say. I want the best possible outcome for LSU, especially this year if it involves the Rose Bowl. While I do believe there is a place for the better good of all, such doesn't always rise to the level of cheering against the success of our school/program.

The deal breaker for me is simple. An opportunity to go to the Rose Bowl, something SEC schools just don't do, and something LSU has NEVER done. You know what that means, right? This could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I feel alone out here on the west coast, even though this board does have some west coast members. It would be great to go to the Rose Bowl when year in and year out it is Pac-10 this, that, blah, blah, blah. No disrespect intended of course. Add to this that we would be playing USC so soon after the 2003 debacle, and how can you not want this? I want it bad.

Now if it doesn't happen, I'll be ok, so long as we get a BCS bowl bid (probably the Sugar). And even though I would likely have a free ticket to the Sugar Bowl, I won't be making that trip. I'll let my brother take someone else to that one. I just want this one bad.

All of that said, I do think that Florida is more deserving of the NC shot than Michigan if a choice has to be made. Why Florida? I think we all know. Toughest conference in America. Tough schedule. Will have knocked off BCS #4 LSU. Just won a conference championship game. Michigan has accomplished a lot as well, but they didn't win their conference and they just lost to OSU. Even the people around me out here agree that they don't want to see an OSU-UM re-match, but that was when they thought USC was going to be in the BCS NCG. I need to find out what they think now. Believe me, these west coasters out here show the SEC almost ZERO respect. It's repulsive. Everyone I talked to about this last night wasn't even interested in the SECCG. WTF? Best matchup of the day, but nooooooooooooooooooo. So whatever.
