Doesn't bother me. When I was in Japan and spoke English to my friends 100% of the time.

Fair enough. However, I do know English slang when I hear it and it irritates the heck out of me. So, no, I'm not clueless. I know English slang when I hear it and that's what I was speaking to. If you have taken the time to read my posts over time, it is quite obvious I use complete sentences, try to punctuate correctly, and try my best not to butcher the English language. Furthermore, I try to phrase my responses so that they don't insult the poster I'm addressing. Can you say the same?

You were joking when you called me clueless? I think I supported my response quite well in the previous post. Before we get into a pissing match, let me just state again that ghetto type slang bothers me. If it doesn't bother you, fine. If you want to say it's ok for people to butcher the English language because Mexicans might be speaking slang, go right ahead. If my Spanish workers are using Spanish slang, I couldn't care less. I don't understand them anyway, which speaks to the original point of the thread. My not understanding them does not bother me.

On a different note, Batty makes a great point. Should we learn the language of whatever country we visit, before we visit there, so as to not offend them?

I didnt call you clueless, I said your response was clueless, in the fact that you said ghetto bothered you. Slang isnt exclusive to ghettos. Ghetto doesnt equal slang. Thats where you response was clueless. There is all kind of slang, even on TV. Ever watch Seinfield, do you realize how much slang they used on that show.

Slang is called slang, you called it ghetto.

Seinfeld type slang? Hardly. We both know I was referring to the type of slang Red made fun of, typically referred to as ghetto. Sheesh! What better word would you have used to describe the slang in Red's post?

    .....pissing match starts........

Before it does, let me just say that I am sorry for the offense I certainly must have caused to so many by my callous remarks. I beg everyone's forgiveness.:bncry:
