Assuming things don't go our way with Arkansas and Auburn, but we still win out our schedule in style (we beat ark but no 3 way tie) what are our at large chances like? Would we be assured Capitol One Bowl at least?

Speaking of which, what is the SEC's non-BCS bowl team picking order this year? Are we going to fall to Chick-fil-A aka Peach Bowl if we miss SECCG? I seem to remember Aub got a better bowl because they didn't lose the SECCG last year (but obviously didn't win the west either). I want SECCG, don't get me wrong, but it seems like getting there and losing is worse for you in bowl selection than not going at all. Anyway, I'll take a crack at hanging up another SEC banner any day over getting the Cotton bowl instead of Capitol One or some similar "travesty".

At this point it looks like were headed to the cotton. It's usually SEC#2 Capitol One, SEC East at-large Peach, SEC West at-large Cotton.

with the addition of the extra NC game, our chances are higher than they would be in previos years....more at-large bids

Not with Auburn above LSU in the BCS Rankings. Auburn has to go to Atlanta and lose to Florida for LSU to even be considered and even then it is a longshot.

I gotta believe if LSU wins out and doesn't get to the SEC CG, that we would be a very attractive option as an at-large bid. With 2 more bids being handed out this season, we would be in a nice position to get one of them. USC would be chosen as a PAC-10 champ if they do indeed win it. USC beating Notre Dame would help us immensely as it would take Notre Dame out of the equation more than likely. LSU gets it over a 2 loss Cal, for instance (should Cal lose to USC). A lot will depend on who beats who.

We need ND to drop below #12 in the BCS standings to knock them out of contention.

I thought ND only had to be in top 14 to be eligible for BCS (eligible = guaranteed if you're ND, Bowls slobber over ND). Anyway, I may be wrong... It doesn't look like UF will go to Arizona if Louisville wins out so we really gotta get to the SECCG. There's a good chance that if everything fell into place (ie. going to and winning the SECCG) we could get ND in the Sugar. I would LOVE that. Actually, I can't think of a better way to end a 2-loss season. I mean, if you ain't gonna make the NC game, might as well play ND in a in-state BCS game!

PS: I'm going to be sacrificing my soul this week for the greater good of LSU football. I'm working out a deal with the devil. My agent is talking to Satan's agent and they're expected to reach an agreement by Saturday. UGA is going to upset Auburn... you can all thank me later and feel sorry for me when I die.

Notre Dame has to finish in the top 8. If LSU finishes with nine victories and in the top 14, then we are eligible for a BCS at-large. We are on the cusp, so we really just need to worry about winning our last games, and hope for a bit of help from Auburn, Arky, & ND.

We could seriously lose before the Arkansas game.

Remember that no conference can have more than 2 BCS bids... so Florida and/or Auburn have to drop out for LSU to be considered..
