I have not been 100% happy with Skip as AD but I trust him to hire a quality coach because with out a doubt he knows how inportant it is to all of LSU athletics. I also agree 100% get rid of the damn icon immediately!!!!!!!

Skip is the perfect choice because....

...he knows what it takes to coach young men to nat'l championships, 5 times I might add. He has also put 4 or 5 of his assistants into head coaching positions where by and large they have been successful. Jim Wells, SMoke, the guy at Ole Miss, and probably some others. Think about others in sports who have done this: Tom Landry, Shula, and John Wooden, coach K. @ duke. If you could take all the assistants that came through their systems and have gone on to be successful head coaches, you'd have a who's who. These guys know and recognize leadership. What we need is not an X's and O's man, but a leader to continue what has already been assembled. You can hire everything but leadership, that must come from the top. Remember, everything rises and falls with leadership. I think Skip can recognize that quality in someone and better yet, ask the right questions of his advisors or the prospective coach himself. We'll see.

    Not really is right

I trusted Emeritt after the Saban hire but to trust Skip and Jenkins and the rest of these board members like Weems is premature. Weems was there and approved the three yahoos we hired before Saban.

Somebody has got to take the bull by the horns like Emeritt did and hire the right guy. Hell, when Joe Dean and Emeritt went and interviewed Saban, Dean wasn't ready to hire him right there. But Emeritt saw what he needed to and made the decision on the spot. That's what we need and I'm not sold on Skip having that ability. He better take the advice of Saban and others if he has any sense.

Saban knows the coaching community and knows these people. Saban would still be honest about who to hire for the good of LSU and maybe that person is Butch Davis, maybe it's not. But hopefully somebody asks Saban his opinion.

Dude, please get a clue. It is spelled Emmert, and Charlie Weems was on the plane with Emmert to interview and hire Saban... get the story right. Weems and Emmert sealed the deal so I guess Weems might know what he is doing when he finds our new coach.

I Do... I know he will do what is best for the Universtiy, not make some of the contract mistakes we did with Saban (No buyout clause) and find a great coach for LSU...

Personally I can think of no man I want more then Skip. But hey what do I know.

No buyout clause is the key, tired of that.
I think Skip and everyone will find the right fit.

Didn't Skip oversee the appointing of Pokey Chatman to replace Sue Gunter??

Not a bad move in what should be considered his first coaching replacement.
