Back in April I posed this question to you. Now that we're in the heat of things, and have a good chance of making it to the big game if we win out, I thought the question deserved to be discussed again. Many of you expressed the idea that winning the SEC should be our goal every year, that loooking forward to a national championship is setting expectations too high. So once again, I ask you: Are you expecting us to win it all this year? Will you be let down if we don't? I feel so strongly about the level of talent on our team that I feel that we should win it, no question. The only team that can beat us is US. :geauxtige
No of course we don't have to. Florida and Fl State had great programs in the 90's and they only came out with one NC each. We have a great program in the 00's (2 SEC's, one NC, 3 Sugarbowl wins). We don't have to prove anything. We have already proven that we have a top notch program. Do I want to? You bet. Should we? Well, I guess it's too early to say, but we will be favored in the rest of our regular season games. So, let's just pull for the Tigers to win every week and enjoy the ride! I was a fan when we were losing, and it's a lot more fun now! ENJOY THE RIDE!!!!!! GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my take is this: I LOVE LSU FOOTBALL!!! win or lose. naturally, the more winning the better and the more post season the better, but our Tigers don't have to go all the way to make me happy. losing season = love my tigers, happy we have a team, better next year winning season = great happiness winning the SEC = extreme happiness wining the NC = extreme happiness bordering on utopia
I'm looking forward to us winning it over the next three years!  :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige :geauxtige
This was what I said then.......I'll stand on it. Here's a link to your thread cause some of these corndogs flip flop sometimes. :hihi: >http://www.tigerforums.com/tigers-den/52724-do-we-have-win-nc-3.html#post580384<
"Hey Matt. Want to block for the deepest backfield in college football and probably the most exciting QB not named Tim Tebow for a couple of years?"
I don't remember my reply to #1 (or even if I did), but we're seeing the total dominance of the SEC in action this year. Kentucky in the top 10? South Carolina in the top 10, and then getting knocked off by Vanderbilt? The SEC is an absolute gauntlet, and whoever gets through and wins the title should be the #1 seed entering the BCS by default. Then you take into account the injuries LSU has had this season. Alexander out for the year, ED missing significant time, Flynn slowed down, who knows what's coming up for Dorsey....my feeling right now is, if we get by Bama, we get to the SECCG. Can we beat Kentucky this time, or beat UF again? I can't say yes with confidence right now. But if we can, I don't think there's anyone outside the SEC that can beat us. So, short answer....I think we have to get to the SECCG. Losing there would not make it a failed season...but if we win the SECCG, we better win the NC.
