The bible says that "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of god". "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me." In Peter it says "there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved." And don't forget "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." So clearly every person alive has sinned. And the pathway to having your sins cleared is through Jesus. So if a baby dies before being able to accept Jesus, then does that baby burn in Hell? I am aware of the doctrine of the "Age of Accountability", but I cannot find where this is specifically mentioned in the Bible.
boy, you are really on a roll with this religion stuff. as far as dead babies, id say you have to ask god.
This would be a valid question if I thought you believed in the concept of hell. Your expressed feelings about God lead me to believe you do not. However, being found in the Bible specifically or not, does not preclude the message of Christ found in the scriptures. If you don't know Him, never heard of Him, how can you be saved by Him? I would imagine this was the driving force behind the Apostles going forth and trying to convert people to Christianity. I liken this to the commandment, "thou shalt not lie". When you lie to your child about Santa Claus, or the Easter Bunny are Christians supposed to believe they are committing a sin? How about when you tell your wife she does not look fat in that dress? According to your literal sense they should burn in hell. I do not, nor have I ever thought the Bible meant to convey this. You keep attempting to take every word translated in the Bible literally and asking Christians to defend it. I have not seen any people attempt to defend the messages of the Bible based on a literal perspective. Not sure what you are driving at with these multiple threads.
how about the retarded? how about if i get in a bad wreck today and end up retarded? how about hitler?
You are working under a false presumption that the Bible is the sole rule of faith. And as per the norm with you, you are taking verses out of their proper context and asking for them to be defended on your errant understanding.
Easy enpugh. But how do we get an answer? Must we examine the entrails of chickens to determine God's will? Can we just send Jimmy Swaggart $25 for his inspirational brochure, "I Speak for God"?
Do you have his email address? Threads on religion get the place lively, and it is interesting to me.
