I am watching the Coach Les Miles press conference right now on channel 19. I notice that the reporters asking questions are addressing him as Les. Now, I know that is his name, but shouldn't they address him as coach? That is the proper thing to do if you are a lowly reporter talking to the head coach of a MAJOR college football team. Did CLM tell them to address him as Les?
he is a real down-to-earth fella, and he doesn't care either way. The 1st time I met him, he told me to call him Les
I was asking... Does he prefer that moniker? Any sportswriters on this board? To call him Les in an official press conference sounds a little presumptuous and disrespectful. He should be addressed as coach unless he specifies otherwise.
I think Clair is an official sportswriter now (sure, just the Reveille now, but the kid's got a great future ahead of him!) Good question you're raising though (even if it sounds a bit like an off-season, we-don't-have-jack-to-talk-about-kinda question) :hihi:
Sorry Clair. I should have known that. I did read your articles. Good stuff. Please answer this: Did he, at the beginning of the press conference, tell everyone to address him as Les? (Or maybe informally before?) NOTE: If that is his style, OK! If not, I never want to see that (LSU Head Coach) position disrespected. Ever...
Clair will never be a sportswriter for any major media outlet because he is an LSU homer. Sorry Clair, those are the facts
Say what!? I hope that is a joke... If what you said was true, then there would probably be ZERO sportswriters out there, because believe it or, everyone has their favorite team, school, etc. Just because someone would decide to cover sports for a living doesn't exclude them from having favorites... :dis:
yeah... this guy is a clown... enough said... every writer comes from a college of some sort, and I am sure they all like their respective college.
