...remind anyone else of the LSU/UGA game earlier this year? Two pretty evenly matched teams, both with talent, should've been a pretty close game, but one team plays perfectly and the other plays their worst game possible?

It was kinda annoying, first because it brought back some not so fond memories, and second because the team I was rooting for was on the losing end of the embarrasment.

These images popped in my head as I was watching the game last night.

This is going to get lost in the shuffle of a 36 point blowout, but the OU equipment manager and staff need to be called on the carpet.

I seriously doubt the Sooners had the best possible cleats on last night, no way. Red flags are raised anytime you see a bunch of slips and spills, all for one team and not the other.

I remember reading how LSU brought a truckload of different shoe combinations to the Sugar Bowl, and that was for an indoor game on speed turf (or whatever it was they had in the Dome). To put your guys at a disadvantage in such a big game, when that's a primary part of your job (making sure they're properly equipped from head to toe) is inexcusable.

Yeah, me, my brother and my friend who were watching the game together all couldn't believe the amount of slips from the OU players. It was almost comical. And we kept expecting them to change cleats, thinking that they must've had other options (I read the same thing last year about LSU's different types of cleats they brought, and I figured that was normal, especially for a championship game). I'd be interested in seeing all of the turnovers and seeing how many of them were possibly the result of the player slipping, although I don't care enought to go to that much trouble.

It does make me appreciate our equipment guys though, and from what I understand, they're not leaving.
