It didn't seem like he did a lot to me. but i could be wrong. I think we should have also showed blitz and then backed off at the last second cause when we did blitz we got killed on the quick slant.
I think we should have blitzed far more in the first half. OSU still only scored 9 in the half, but I saw far too many 4 man rushes, imo. We blitzed a lot more in the second half, and it seemed like the OSU offense got a little confused.
And the only way we even got a sack was when we did an all-out blitz. I'm hoping that the rain is the reason we couldn't get many sacks.
From my vantage point in the S endzone I saw several blitzes that were picked up by the RB's. Daigle was the one I noticed blitzing the most. The all out blitz worked a couple of times also.
Why we didn't Blitz more Come on guys, didn' you attend Saban 1001. Blitzing is do or die, when you blitz you are putting yourself at risk of giving up a big play. When the field is wet and you send the safety the corners aren't just on an island, they are on a slippery island. If the corner slips or falls it is a TD. Sending the kitchen sink is always risky but even more on a slick field.
Good point ... also, Anderson took alot of 3 step drops and threw quick, short passes. Several times we hit him just after he threw the ball. Except for a few missed tackles, I thought our defense played well.
Our front four ... the ones that got no credit ... pressured Anderson and took away the long ball all night
I agree. Kyle is going to be awesome all year long. The kid really has a motor maybe he should be Player of the Year in the SEC. I think everyone knows who that is talking about!
Yes, so did I. I still think we should have blitzed more in the first half. To Saban, a blitz is what, 7 or more? Im not saying we should have brought the house on every down, but there were a whole lot of 4 man rushes that didnt produce pressure. Sometimes they did, but you cant give a QB like Anderson the amount of time he was allowed early in the game. It wasnt always 3 steps and release, sometimes he had to wait for something to develop.
