this year, recovering from the knee injury only to have an infection in it coupled with the weight gain/"in shape problems" have made it a rough year for Alley. Here's hoping that the young man realizes that adversity only makes you stronger. I'll use JV as an example. Phenominal freshman season and then tough times inbetween but his LSU career ends with a solid game in the Sugar Bowl. And to hear JV talk in his interviews....wow...all I can say is that no matter how I've ever felt about his on-field performances the past 3 years, I will always be impressed with his attitude and maturity.
i thought JV played so much because LSU needed to rely on a back for pass protection and out of the backfield as a bonus--usually thats hester, but thought his knees werent up to it, but then hester got pt. so who knows. jv looked good. not KW good, but good. a joke that the fox commentator thought jv would be good in nfl. dont know bout alley. maybe a little thunder and lightning next year?
I had suspected that JV may end up with a good game today, which he did. I think revisiting the superdome and memories of 2003 NC game could have inspired him. He looked good today. He also made a nice key block that allowed JR's TD pass early in the game. I am very glad for him. Hope Broussard comes back strong next year. Seems like he was running better and better with more conviction towards the end of the season.
JV did have some huge blocks but ya gotta admit, those were some monster holes he was running through. Nice to see him end his career here on a good note. Starts off with Sugar bowl and ends with Sugar bowl, good for him. :geauxtige
