According to the Advocate, after winning both houses of Congress by telling the voters that the best reason for electing them was so they could end the "culture of corruption" in Washington, the House Democrats have suddenly begun to balk at passing the lobby reform bills they had promised. Now that they are in charge, they apparently want to maintain the huge campaign contributions and lavish parties from the lobbyists. They are also re-thinking the idea of having to wait two years instead of the current one year before they can become well-paid lobbyist themselves after they leave office. The more things change.
