He coached the Ravens LBs during their Super Bowl winning year.

He's taken the Jags from crap to playoff contention.

Uhm, call me racist but I would like a coach that has purple and gold skin. But if we can't get that, I guess I'll live....

....and that's not the answer to my question. I asked "what has he ever won as a HC or DC?" I have my doubts about Del Rio....and they stem no further than this past weekend's humiliating loss at HOME to the Texans. A Jacksonville win, they control their own destiny, and still they get shut DOWN by the TEXANS?!? Not beat....it wasn't even a good game. Houston handed them their asses. Now, how does this translate into playing in the SEC where EVERY week is a BIG game? There is no "wildcard" in college football (no matter how much there should be a playoff...but that's another story for another thread). It's win, or be gone. No team can afford to "take a week off". How was his team not UP for this game? I don't get it....

I have my reservations about Del Rio. If he is hired, he may turn out to be the second coming of Knute Rockne....but I think Jimmy Johnson would be the better fit here and now...JMO
