"Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires -- a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so."

Here... I'll do it for you...

"Well, since the government didn't tell us about the secret wiretaps, the government wasn't 'talking about' them, so technically Bush didn't lie."

Read down a little further and you will see where he mentions delayed notification warrants. Do a little research there rex and figure out what those are and how they work.

Concerning the secret taps that were being used, they had congressional oversight on the practice and things were being done within the letter of the law. Everyone and their mother has now had the opportunity to scrutinize the law and guess what, the democrats are starting to figure out that they have made a huge mistake. There is a reason why the President seems cocky on this issue. He knows he is in the right. He has broken no law. What will it take to get that through your thick skull?

Now, there is also a reason why the President seems pissed off. Someone on that congressional oversight committee leaked what was being discussed to the press. There is no doubt that it was one of the Presidents many enemies on the left. When this person is uncovered, he or she will be one defending themselves. I have a feeling that the President will come out of this whole thing smelling like a rose.

I didn't ask you to defend the wiretaps, which you've done so erroneously and futilely, but the lie.

I hope they find out who leaked it and throw the book at the person. That was a much more serious violation of the law than what the president is accused of doing.

Where did he lie. Let me guess, he should have stood up there at the press conference and told everyone all of the details of the secret programs that we have in place to stop terrorist. Get a freaking clue on how things work rex. Some things just aren't our business. He had no legal responsibility to give out that kind of information and he didn't.

You really live in a box don't you. Clueless........

I'll take that as an implicit admission that he lied.

    There's hope for you yet.

    I don't think so rex

The government doesn't talk about clandestine operations. He was not talking about that program. Even though the law has given him permission to conduct those programs.

In just about every circumstance, yes. However, the law clearly states that there are other times that do not apply. There are and have been rules in place that govern the collection of intelligence without first seeking a warrant. He had no obligation to mention them or discuss them with anybody.

The statements that the president made were truthful. You are not getting anywhere with this example.

Hey Salty - Why don't we just go to liberal websites and cut and paste news articles about Bush here and then defend him? Wouldn't that save ol' Rex some time? Maybe he can save himself some money too. Since he doesn't actually post about LSU sports here at all, he can just go over to the chit free board and stir those a-holes up.

I wouldn't last 5 minutes on one of the liberal sites before they banned me for life. Also, reading their rants is like listening to Randy Rhodes on America left XM. It causes me to have an upset stomach.

I'd rather read the Washington Times. Thank you very much.
