All that stuff matters man, how we feel affects how we interact. And dealing with a serious ailment can affect your mental state so much so that you become a different person to other people. I am sure you know all this. When my father was dealing with cancer it was a huge change in his mental state. Only time I ever saw him cry in my life, I was like wtf is happening to this man. For him, he become much nicer and softer. Was weird. Anyway, hope your new treatment works out. Sometimes its a long road with these things, because as you find out. We don't know much about what is going on in the brain. You find out, the doctors are pretty lost at times. And that can be very frustrating and maddening.
