Regardless of the spin form the forum's mouthpiece of the Democratic Party...Radical Evangelist Democrat...this is real easy. The Democrats owned the White House, the Senate, and the House. They could've passed a budget but wanted to raise taxes without cutting spending. They knew this would cost them votes if they did this so they decided to wait until after the election. They were arrogant to believe they would maintain total control and came up short. After losing the House they demand the Republicans still pass what the Democrats originally wanted. The Democrats haven't written a plan and have said no to two plans written by the Republicans. The Democrats then reverted to their normal whining and crying and blaming the other side. Has this administration done anything without blaming the other party? They have no clue and just want a blank check. It's time to end this party's failed run. Unfortunately the Republicans will have to settle for less than they want and allow this administration to waste additional money putting it directly in the pockets of their constituents under the guise of crap we don't need like the unproven, unscientific myths from people like Al Gore. Thankfully this train was slowed and hopefully we'll make a change next year to reverse these failed programs before they destroy our country.
Not in the last election and that's why you lost the House. That's what really chaps your ass. You can't just run over everybody like you did with healthcare. Remember..."We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it." The people may have spoken in 2008 but they also spoke in 2010 and that was a referendum on the Democrats' agenda.
That's because they cannot under any circumstances piss off their campaign contributors. The GOP has painted itself into a NO OBAMA corner. And that means anytime Obama says anything, the Republicans MUST disagree. Even if it were making abortions illegal, the Republicans would have to come out and disagree. It's ok though because polls show who the American people blame right now, they blame the Republicans. And they should. Their recession, they got us into this debt crisis, they expanded government, they basically did everything they are supposed to be against, and now they are trying to pin it all on President Moozlem McBlackerson.
You are clearly paying no attention at all. :dis: And Boehners strategy is to make the Republicans come out ahead politically regardless of the consequences to the country. What is your point?
The point is that the debt must be reduced and Obama's spending addiction doesn't do it. GOP wants to reduce the debt by cutting spending. Obama wants to tax "the rich" and cut spending 20 years from now.
Everybody knows this but the Tea Party who is becoming a millstone around the Republican neck. Republican rejection of science is also a part of their decline.
Wrong. The Tea Party has forced Congress to, at least, consider spending cuts. Without Tea Party Congressmen in there, the debt ceiling would already be raised and the debt would be continuing to climb. Obama spends $4.1 Billion a day. This has to stop.
No, you are wrong once again. Obama is willing to do both. The Republicans are unwilling to say yes to anything Obama offers, even when it is a good deal for them.
Messing with the debt ceiling isn't the way to do it. It endangers our credit rating and could crash the economy. This is a routine thing that the GOP is using to be obstructionist. Bush did it many times, Reagan did it 18 times. This will not fix the debt problem and will cause many bad things to happen. For which the GOP will be rightfully blamed. And get this . . . if it doesn't pass it won't keep the debt from climbing. It will only hurt our credit and economy. Within a few weeks or months, social security and medicare payments would stop, and a lot of voter will be angry at those who are seen to precipitate this crisis in a period of economic recovery.
