I don't believe this rumor. It has not been reported anywhere, and every paper is reporting that Clay will be DC. I will start to believe it when it is more than an Internet rumor. I find it hard to believe that Clay would leave OSU for a demotion to a position coach. If Miles has talked to Campo, it is probably just for advice.
Jay Walker on ESPN radio (local guy) in Lafayette read an email from one of his viewers, who Jay said was a big LSU guy and usually right, which said that Miles interviewed Campo. The guy probably got the info from a message board.....but I figured that i'd throw that out there as another place the Campo info came from.
I haven't seen a paper yet to report that Clay will be the DC here. I've seen his name in a list of coaches Miles is bringing with him from Oklahoma, and DC listed as his title at Okie State. But I don't think there's a media outlet who is reporting that Clay will be the DC here as well. Not picking on you, just trying to clear up some confusion.
Those same papers listed Clay as DC last week, and we know from Muschamp's own mouth Miles offered him the DC position just a couple of days ago...so I don't put much emphasis on the papers either. One paper reports it (correctly or incorrectly), and the rest pick up on it and include it in their story.
Get a life...he said he was taking a break because people were giving Saban a lot of grief...Just like I took a break from this site during the Auburn and Georgia periods... Get over yourself...
max...not been confirmed by M Scarborough but... One of his adminstrators confirmed this with the only non-coach to have Saban's cell phone number and had the clout to call at his choosing -- somebody named Ponderosa. I will keep trying to get confimation from my NFL conduit because they keep a constant chain-phone call going on all matters concerning NFL players and coaches...will post as soon as I can confirm. Somebody like M Scarborough or Dandy Don will probably get the information before I do though.
My point on the other thread was that Dandy may have either read that post from Ponderosa or someone who did emailed him the news and he went with it. I'd like to know if Don got the info in that fashion, or received it independently.
