1. Let's not blow this out of proportion, because he gives no sources and backs up his information in any way...BUT..(scroll to end)

Dave Campo to LSU per Houston Chronicle

  2. I hope if this is the guy who was supposed to be 'unknown' until mid-Feb...that the article doesn't blow the lid off and kill our chances with him :(

I urge you not to run around posting this on every opponent's website you can find. No need to help spread the rumor any faster than it will likely spread.

  3. You just posted it on the INTERNET!

True or False....once it's on the internet it's on the internet?

I see you got this from tigerbait...which is semi-private........

But this is a public forum.......

    again...I-N-T-E-R-N-E- :) T
  4. I said opponent's websites..I figured LSU sites would be more conservative in how they used the info. It's not like I broke the story or posted regulated information, it is posted on a major newspaper site. I didn't get it from Tigerbait btw.

  5. BTW, what's your handle over on TB?

    J/W
  6. I'm guessing you're going to run out and buy up every single last copy of the Houston Chronicle edition that this story will appear in, since you don't want the rumor out...
  7. I live in Houston and John McClain has a great reputation over here for having sources within the football community and being a credible reporter. The only reason why I would wonder about Campo coming to LSU is the whole pension issue. According to some, he was coming up on the year he needed to secure an NFL pension. Maybe, Skip and Les made Campo a sweet offer and he figures that he can go back to the league some time in the future to collect that extra year.
  8. McClain has been covering the NFL for decades and is the head of the Pro Football Writers Association of America, so he's no small-time hack. If he says LSU is talking to Campo, I believe him.
  9. I would be very happy w/ a Campo hire -- if true, just too bad we couldn't announce it this week and get the mileage w/ the recruits. I had also heard that he needed another yr to vest in the NFL retirement system, which sounded to me like a pretty good reason why he would look for an NFL job and not college. But maybe that's been worked out. This report also seems to jive w/ Ott's comments.
  10. Is this guy really in the know moreso than all of the other writers and other media guys, we'll see. Sooner or later someone has to be right, maybe.
