PULL FOR AUBURN TO WIN, GO DANDYDON LSU will profit by an Auburn win over Tennessee. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!! HOW IS THAT???? As much as we hate Auburn and that scumbag coach Tubby, an Auburn win clips Tennessee ... FROM THE NATIONAL TITLE PICTURE .... MORE IMPORTANTLY PREVENTS THESE POLLSTERS FROM LISTENING TO ALL THIS ANTI-LSU CRUD AND PUTTING TENNESSEE ATOP US. Tennessee gained 54 points for a +3 point win over USC when LSU gained the same 54 points for drumming MSU ...........FAIR................NO WAY TOO MANY GUYS IN HERE ARE THINKING SMALL AND INSIDE THE BOX. C'MON, PULL FOR AUBURN TONITE ... THERE"S A NC ON THE LINE. AU WILL GET THEIRS ON OCT 25 ... what are you worried about
you are nuts. if LSU has any hope of the national championship, they will have to win the SEC championship game. if UT is also undefeated, then the situation will take care of itself. so for right now I will pull for Auburn, an SEC west team with 0 conference losses, to lose.
I'm with you, Lump. The game means absolutely nothing for LSU, as far as their chances for a MNC. However, it does (or could) mean something with respect to LSU's chances for the SEC West, a secondary goal for the team. So, go Vols! :geaux:
You're the one thinking small - I want LSU to play an unbeaten and Top 5 UT in the SEC championship game. THAT will help us a lot more than beating a twice-beaten Auburn in Tiger Stadium (we get BDS bonus points for beating top 10 teams, you know).
Well, Lump, you don't watch polls much ... and you don't watch the voting. TN and Ark are threats ... NOW ... this week in the Polls ... they need to go ... NOW ... this week and next week. People vote regionally ... and too many SEC teams take votes away from LSU ... & the gap between LSU and those ahead of us will widen even further ... why ... too many SEC teams in the Top 10 .... 4 in the Top 11. Herbstreit, Corso and the rest of the magnificent sportscasters have stated LSU's win over GA was undeserved and ... Georgia lost the game ... LSU did not win. LSU NEEDS TO BE THE ONLY SEC FORERUNNER WITH A NC SHOT. LSU NEEDS FOR AUBURN TO BEAT TENNESSEE & ARKANSAS IN BACK TO BACK WEEKS ... AND WHAT WILL RESULT LSU is "CEMENTED" into the NC picture with innumerable ... and invaluable ... SEC votes "COMING LSU'S WAY" ... we need a PUSH NOW ... NOT A "LUMP" in the head ... pun intended. I'd rather a #2 LSU play a #7 TN or GA ... than a #4 LSU play any body and get "Boxed out" of a NC game. I want LSU to get enough votes from now till October 25 ... the most critical time to make a move ... to get to #2 or #3 at least. Tennesee's remaining schedule ... http://nola.com/lsu/spnet.ssf?/default.asp?c=advance&page=cfoot/sched/TENNESSEE-sked1.htm
Re: Re: DANDYDON SAYS AUBURN WINS ... DON'S A SMART GUY You just said it, Pal We'll play a Top 5 TN ... cuz we won't be there ... they'll vote these VOL chumps past LSU Go back the last 3 weeks and look at the rankings and point movement ... don't take my word for it ... get your calculator and add the totals on a weekly basis. UT got as many points +54 gain for a 3 point win over USC as LSU did for shelling MOO State. Respect? LMAO, none for LSU. Tennessee wins tonite ... they jump our arses like checkers ... with Arkansas right behind them ... and we'll never make it to the title game ... even if we run the table ... THINK ABOUT THAT A one loss TN or GA and a one loss AR give us Top 10 opponents... WHEN WE ARE #2 ... and locked IN
I have to disagree with Ramah. For us to rise to #1 or #2 before we play ARK and TN , the other undefeateds from the other conferences have to fall, since they are already ranked above us. I do not believe that we would be ranked higher if TN and ARK fall but the other teams above us continue to win. If teams from other conferences do fall, then it won't matter where TN and ARK are ranked when we play them; if we are one of only two undefeateds at season's end, we will be in the BCS. LSU only controls its own destiny and we must win every single game. If the Hogs and Vols lose before we play them, then even if we defeat them we may not make it to the top 2 (if there are two other undefeateds). But if the Hogs and Vols are undefeated when we play them, then even if we are ranked lower than them when we play them, we will move into the top two after beating them. I simply don't see a scenario where it helps our cause to have TN and ARK lose before we play them. If we ran the table, we just defeated Arkansas and presumably Tennessee in the SECCG. No way they're ranked above us after that! I don't follow your reasoning.
SECCG tickets The only way Ark and TN losing helps us now is in the race for SECCG tickets. If Ark starts losing and LSU can wrap up the west title by beating AMAB (ie, before the GTHOM game), then Tiger fans have a fighting chance of being the majority in the Georgia Dome. Otherwise the East team will have more tickets since their race will be decided by that weekend. Since that probably won't happen, beating undefeated Ark and UT teams could help us jump over other undefeated teams, due to the bonus points for beating top 10 teams. In essence, LSU, Ark & TN are tied in the polls now. The particular order doesn't matter, since if one comes out undefeated they are currently guarenteed to be at least #4 based on the head to head matchups ahead of us. And there will be further upsets. For that last reason, the only game that matters now is the UF game. If the Tigers want to win the MNC, they have to beat the 'Diles. GEAUX TIGERS (Gators Eat Boogers!)
ramah you can't see the forest through the trees. who cares what the polls say this week or next. October polls mean nothing for the national championship. Besides, we play arkansas, so it doesnt matter what they do. if we want to win the NC, we have to beat arkansas, regardless of what their record is. If tennessee and LSU are both undefeated, we will play UT in the SECCG...so as far as the NC is concerned, LSU controls their destiny. Worry about OSU, Miami, Va Tech and FSU losing if you want, but worrying about Arkansas and UT losing makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Now step back, forget about the NC, and think about the SEC. Obviously it is in our best interest for western division rivals to lose, so for SEC championship purposes you should definitely be pulling for UT to beat Auburn. My simple caveman mind cannot comprehend your logic, Ramah.
You're right, LSU must win the SEC championship game. And in order to do that, obviously you have to win the Western division. Auburn's early season loses don't mean squat in the SEC West rankings--conference record does. LSU could be 11-1 on the season, and if Auburn gives us our loss, then Auburn goes to the title game--No matter if they're 11-1, or 8-3. I want Auburn to LOSE! THe ONLY Western team I was pulling for vs an Eastern division opponent was 'Bama. Simply because I don't like rematches in title games. I don't like the "revenge factor" (remember 2001--lose to UT in the regular season, win in the SECCG).
