Is anyone worried that if we get too many so-so commitments in November we may miss out on a few Early Doucets and Luke Sanders when Signing Day comes around?

I mean that in the sense of scholarship limitations, not in that they would run off because we are signing these guys.

That is a concern, but I trust Saban knows exactly what he is doing...

I read that Sanders' dad is a friend of the tamu strength coach. Kinda worried that he would go to tamu. Look at the guys that have gone there from WM.

I wouldn't exactly consider Matt Stoltz a so-so commitment. I like seeing players commit now.. I like to think that there are good players who might otherwise be wishy-washy who say "man, I like LSU.. I better sign up before they run out of scholarships!" Demand = interest :)

I can't help but daydream about an OU/LSU national championship rivalry developing over the next few years, and with the way we and they are recruiting and the coaching staffs involved.. that seems like a real possibility. Or am I just a hopelessly optimistic LSU fan?

I agree. Early commitments--especially from high-profile recruits, must have some impact (positive), on other high-profile players.

Should players like Doucet and Sanders see, and speak with players like Stoltz, etc. I'm sure the "Man, with guys like you and I..." conversation comes up.

    Early Committments

All American Robert Meacheam lost out last year because he waited too long to call. Couple of guys from California did the same. The rules have changed with Saban here. Better take an offer when given or you may not have a spot, no matter who you are. If Sanders is dumb enough to play for Fifthchonie, he's too dumb to play at LSU.
