from DandyDon.com today "I am a little concerned about the offense's inability to run the ball and pick up first downs on short yardage situation. I have seen several times this season when LSU would pick up seven or eight yards on first down running the football and then lose a yard or two on second and third downs running the football. This has been a problem the last few years for the Tigers. I would like to see LSU use their TEs more on second and short and third and short." Didn't we try going to our tight ends, with poor results, against Vandy?
Yeah, it just seems like people love to say we need to throw it to the tight end, even when it doesn't make sense.
At first, during the game, I kept thinking - "See! This is why we don't throw to the TE!" but I think that if we were to use them more, keeping them as a different type of threat on offense - they will develop into better players (aka ones that can catch etc).
I pretty much agree, I think Jones is all-SEC material and we probably should get him the ball more, but both him and Zinger had their bad moments against Vandy (and Zinger also had the catch of the year so far for us against UT).
He fumbled, blocked in the back, let one go through his hands IMO we go to them too much! And it has nothing to do with them playing poorly Line up with 4 WRs Our 4th receiver can dominate any nickelback, and if they can't run it with Addai... Our O-Line can dominate a nickel or dime defensive front
