What a night. Probably the best single LSU game i have seen this year in any sport. Both teams gave every thing they had and we still won. It wasn't even our best performance. Coleman had a extremely bad night giving up 5 solo shots to guys who had barley hit all year. But thanks to an outstanding bullpen performance and some very clutch small ball, we got the victory and a leg up on tonight. The pressure is off now, time to coast to victory. OR RUN THEM INTO THE GROUND!!!! It will be just as hot tonight, if not hotter. So expect to see alot of  :bncry: from texas players who apparently dont like getting their jerseys all sweaty. And could someone get a dry sack for the ref? :tigereye::laflagwav:tigbas::champs: P.S. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank you all for putting up with my game threads for the 08-09 season. It's been lots of fun and we have been mildly successful in my tenure. If their are no objections I plan to continue holding this down for another year. Feel free to dump all of your available rep points on me today.
Family ku-deauxs aside....... Yesterday had to be my second best day as an  fan living in Texas for the past 14 years! My hope is today or tomorrow will be the best day yet. :tigereye: Both would change by one position the day when we can move "Home". Saintslogo :geaux:
No official word that i can find, but ross is the obvious choice. The bigger question is do we go for broke if this gets tight late. As much as i would love to sweep texas, there is always tomorrow.
If you're implying that maybe we sneak Ranaudo into the game late, especially with a small lead to bridge the gap to the closer or even close the game, I would think not. Somebody will have to man up tonight if that is the case. Bradshaw, Bertuccini, someone, will have to close. I assume Ott is off the table, although maybe not. How many pitches did he throw last night? He doesn't really throw that hard. He appears to have a rubber arm much like Coleman, so who knows. Look for Coleman to be available for a batter or 2 or even an inning on Wednesday if it gets that far.
 ive enjoyed your game threads. very entertaining starts. as long as you remember to start them! :hihi:
Mainieri: Ross to start as LSU preps for game 2 per interview earlier on WWL 870. Another quote: Maneirie says the high temperatures and short rest for his ace Anthony Ranaudo are big reasons he is not starting Ranaudo tonight. He says the heat was intense last night. "It was suffocating; and I saw Lewis Coleman, who has great endurance, really wither in the heat. I just though that with Ranaudo being on three days rest, it's a little bit too much to think he can go out there in this heat and be able to pitch seven or eight innings." Here is the link: WWL - AM870 | FM105.3 | News | Talk | Sports - Mainieri: Ross to start as LSU preps for game 2
Although Ross was roughed up his last two relief stints it's the right call to rest Ranaudo and have him ready for game 3 if needed. Hopefully Ross is ready, but we still have plenty of bullpen if he is off.
Gotta say, Texas has no class. Skipping down the base path after homeruns, curtain calls without any requests from the fans, cursing from the dug out at LSU players, etc. What a bunch of asses. Coach Augie Burrito or whatever his name is should know better. And for a "genious" coach he really f'd up last night, although I certainly will not complain. I hope we pound them into submission tonight.
