Spurrier, who won a national championship at Florida, is in his second season with the Gamecocks with a 13-10 overall record, including 6-5 in 2006. The coach is in the second year of a seven-year contract.
things must be really bad at South Carolina, or SOS has realized he will never be better then the #3 team in the SEC East in any given year. If he took that job, it woud drive the Gator Nation crazy.....only thing worse would be him taking over Tennessee or Florida State (which if he waits a year or two may be a possibility).
I wonder why bama hasn't come after him?Now that would be a scary team.Kinda like if saban hadn't held out so long on us and we might have ended up with spurrier as the head coach. We would be scary also.
Considering the fact that he has been at SC for just a couple of years and would owe SC a bundle if he left, it would surprise me. But anything is possible. He certainly would have a much better football program and he knows the Florida high schools like the back of his hand. dI think it would be a good fit.
I dont know if ANYONE can take the Thug out of Thug U. Spurrier just might lose his mind trying to coach a discipline game down there.
It could be that the Butch Davis Hire at UNC has got him thinking he will lose more recruits and not be able to keep pace with the top tier SEC teams
